St Chalet Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Good prep for the final in two weeks time!
Danbert Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Not good enough, Puel out. We are heading for relegation. And what is Reed doing wasting money on Gabbiadini when we're calling out for a new centre back.
SaintBobby Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I'm beginning to think it's possible that we won't get relegated this season.
Saints foreva Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 A good professional display. Up the Saints.
Plastic Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Didn't expect that. Love gabi. Good team performance after a poor first 15.
Heisenberg Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Well done lads. Didnt watch it but sounds convincing. Can actually look forward to watching MOTD for a change. Man of the match??
Roger Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Wonderful performance. New defender in and boufal fit and we have chance in cup final.
Saint Albert Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Sunderland were so confident going into this game. Football has a habit of kicking you in the nuts when you think things are going your way. I'm very happy with the result. Romeu was great in midfield, Yoshida and Stephens solid but not tested that much, Tadic had a good game and Gabbiadini appears to be a stud.
St Marco Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Perfect game for us. Excellent result and moves us up some places in the table. I do feel kinda sorry for Sunderland fans as they have been by far the worst team I have seen for a longtime. The next few months are going to be horrific for them. Where as we will be at Wembley!
Pamplemousse Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Well done lads. Didnt watch it but sounds convincing. Can actually look forward to watching MOTD for a change. Man of the match?? Gabbiadini without a doubt. He's exactly what we've been missing. Bertrand, Tadic and Romeu too. Defoe is still in Stephens's pocket.
saint97 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Shocking for 20/25 minutes.. scored a goal then full of confidence and owned the game. Gabbiadini, Romeu and Tadic fantastic.
Wiggles31 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Fantastic performance. Gabbiadini looks some player - his intelligent movement is what we've been screaming for! Tadic was sensational. Played a much more free role and linked lots of attacking play.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 From The Guardian: Manolo Gabbiadini stole the headlines with two goals on another disappointing afternoon for Sunderland. Their players board a flight to New York for some sort of bonding session later this evening. It could be a long flight.
Dark Munster Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Shame on Puel playing without a goal-scoring striker for most of the season. At least he's finally realised the importance of having one. Puel out!!!!
James Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Well done Saints. Wasn't expecting that. Gabbi is different class.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Will batman and Alpine front up and admit they were wrong?
Heisenberg Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Gabbiadini without a doubt. He's exactly what we've been missing. Bertrand, Tadic and Romeu too. Defoe is still in Stephens's pocket. Great news. Feared the worst and avoided checking the score till late on. Will look forward to watching the highlights. Happy days
eurosaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Wonderful performance. New defender in and boufal fit and we have chance in cup final. CB's did well, Tadic on form, Gabba clinical, Long scores 2 in 10 mins! Hard to choose but I'd go for Stephens as he never gave Defoe a sniff !! COYS
spyinthesky Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Apart from first 10 mins we were completely in control Bit like Bournemouth but even more comprehensive
bazza Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Good win prior to the final, should boost the lads confidence. Sunderland are awful though.
austsaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 So one sided in the second half - Sunderland were abject, but what an important win. Bertrand, Romeu, Gabby and Tadic all excellent. Yoshida and Stevens didn't give Defoe a sniff.
washsaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 What are the cry babies on this forum going to complain about over the next 2 weeks then? Great performance after a dodgy start - and for all you JWP haters: f*** you. he was superb today as he has been on the whole recently. 7 or 8 would have been a fair reflection of that game and I think you can safely put to bed any thoughts of a relegation battle - much to the disappointment of quite a few on here I'm sure.
eurosaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 CB's did well, Tadic on form, Gabba clinical, Long scores 2 in 10 mins! Hard to choose but I'd go for Stephens as he never gave Defoe a sniff !! COYS Sorry, replied to wrong quote but my sentiments still stand
striker Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I think Gabby is the type of striker that Puel wanted (past tense) Redmond to be. The short quick guy. Jay Rod looked ****ed, my guess is he's looking to go.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Ok, so maybe the 7 day preparation did help after all.
verlaine1979 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Good result. Gabbiadini seems like exactly the right kind of player to bring out the best from Tadic. Front three of Boufal, Gabbiadini & Tadic hopefully picks itself once all three are fit.
beatlesaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Didn't see that coming, feared the worst today, but very well done Saints. Perfect prep for Wembley
View From The Top Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Amazing what having the players to play the preferred formation can do in addition to a whole week on the training field to get the coaching right. The usual cu_ts will say it's just papering over the cracks, I'll say it's a glimpse of the future.
James Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I think Gabby is the type of striker that Puel wanted (past tense) Redmond to be. The short quick guy. Jay Rod looked ****ed, my guess is he's looking to go. I wouldn't exactly call Gabbi 'short' he's over six foot!
trousers Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Great game, great performance, great result. Sweepstake on those forum members who won't be posting tonight? (or those that will post in a positive fashion in a forlorn attempt to cover their normal modus operandi) Relegation my arse. Bring on the cup final! COYR!!
Toadhall Saint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Will batman and Alpine front up and admit they were wrong? No chance - easier to knock than stick with it.
Pamplemousse Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 How long before the first comment of 'we're papering over the cracks' ?
markr27 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 What was up with Jay Rodriguez - did he have a paddy on the bench?
redkeith Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Gabbi is a different gravy up front, or a Ragu as they call it in Italy. Romeu was immense as were the whole back line. Don't mind if Boufal isn't back for Wembley, as Tadic is such a good player, when he has someone making the runs that Gabbi does.
trousers Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 How long before the first comment of 'we're papering over the cracks' ? Cracks, my arse!
Saints foreva Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 What was up with Jay Rodriguez - did he have a paddy on the bench? Taters said he threw his shinpads when PEH was subbed on for Tadic.
Toomer Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Did not see that result coming I thought it would be a draw is the result to change rest of the season.
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Very good result, making me happy. Gabba providing the striking options we've needed for a while. Yes, Sunderland were poor for most of the game, but they had chances early on and didn't take them. We grew into the game and played confidently.
alpine_saint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Massive Massive win. Hopefully a turning point to lift the gloom ahead of the cup final
mattiiiboiii7 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Great result well done Saints Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Toadhall Saint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Great result - 4 to the good - clean sheet and won't have to put up with ranting of the (ab)normal loons.
trousers Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Hopefully a turning point to lift the gloom ahead of the cup final Gloom? What gloom? (unless you're referring to the usual suspects of course...?)
badgerx16 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Forster could have done with a crossword to keep him occupied. Most of the plaudits will go to Gabbiadini, but in addition I thought Romeu absolutely bossed the midfield, and praise is also due to our CB pair, who didn't put a foot wrong, ( Jermaine who ? ).
scotty Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Gabbiadini without a doubt. He's exactly what we've been missing. Bertrand, Tadic and Romeu too. Defoe is still in Stephens's pocket. I loved the way defoe whined at stephens after a tackle on the left, jack went sauntering away with a huge grin on his face. Brilliant.
