St Chalet Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Never see such a pessimistic build up. Please prove us wrong Saints!
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 looked like 3 men in the box, chance for a cross, ends up a Yoshida back pass to the keeper, a phrase that usually fills me with fear
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 FFS! We were attacking around the edge of their area, then we went sideways, backwards, backwards, all the way to Forster. Quicker than Sunderland could have ever attacked on the breakaway. Not this. Not today. Come on! Attack, stay attacking, shoot!
mrfahaji Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 FFS! We were attacking around the edge of their area, then we went sideways, backwards, backwards, all the way to Forster. Quicker than Sunderland could have ever attacked on the breakaway. Not this. Not today. Come on! Attack, stay attacking, shoot! It's one of the most frustrating pieces of our regular play. Player doesn't want to take a chance by hitting a risky/hopeful ball forward, so plays it safe. Not necessarily anything wrong with that, but when a few passes later Forster lumps it forward with an even more risky/hopeful ball with the outcome of a successful ball being worse than the original scenario, you have to wonder...!
BotleySaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 On the back foot. Making Sunderland look like a good team.
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 The reincarnation of sideways Jim Magilton. But jimmy could take a pop from distance and score...
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Sunderland camped around our box for 3 minutes. 2 corners & a free kick have come to nothing, but they're not passing it backwards all the time - gives them chances.
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Clash of the two finalists in the most stupid haircut competition.
Crab Lungs Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 JWP: "We must put this right" Yeah, we've started really well. Such fire in the belly.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Disappointing start. Hopefully we'll be able to get out from under all the pressure soon.
stevieg Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 FFS! We were attacking around the edge of their area, then we went sideways, backwards, backwards, all the way to Forster. Quicker than Sunderland could have ever attacked on the breakaway. Not this. Not today. Come on! Attack, stay attacking, shoot! Yep was watching the same thing and a bit frustrating so early on
Crab Lungs Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 The reincarnation of sideways Jim Magilton. Ahhhhhh, back in the day when midfielders could do four or five things as opposed to be a specialist in one.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 On the back foot. Making Sunderland look like a good team. So much for our 7 days of prep for this. Come on Puelvliet - Sort it out.
St Marco Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Looks like they are targeting jwp, soon as he gets the ball they rob it off him.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 sweepstake for the time of our first shot on target? 39 minutes I reckon
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Good tackle, Stephens. Sunderland are packing the midfield - it's worked well against us in recent games: Swansea, WHam...
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 JWP: "We must put this right" Yeah, we've started really well. Such fire in the belly. I hate those fluff pieces. "We have to kick the ball towards the goal" says Tadic after another disappointing defeat in which they forgot to kick the ball towards the opposition's goal. Don't ****ing tell us. We know, we have to watch it. Just get it ducking done on the field.
saint97 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Are the midfield 3 even playing? Terrible start.
BotleySaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Just look off the pace. No-one tracking their runs. Always falls to their guy when it's a loose ball. We need to start tracking them...
del boy Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 depressing that were making very average teams like West Ham and Sunderland look like world beaters
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Just pretend we are playing in red and white stripes. It's a much more enjoyable experience.
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Are the midfield 3 even playing? Terrible start. Yes, but ball-watching. Not holding a midfield position when defending, nor taking up good positions in attack.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Ripping us apart. Awful so far. Hardly ripping us apart but we have started slow
Donatello Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Definitely 4-2-3-1 But with Davis as one the two DMs
mrfahaji Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 We're being cut through like a hot knife through butter. I guess when you're up against the attacking force of Sunderland you have to ride your luck a bit.
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Any streams for this? Are you sure you want one. It's ****ing dire.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Any streams for this? http://www.feed4u.net/watch/1907419/2/Sunderland-vs-Southampton-FC.html
Saint_clark Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 How the **** is that not a foul you ****ing **** commentators
OttawaSaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I gues Gabi doesn't have a right foot then...
BotleySaint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I gues Gabi doesn't have a right foot then... To be fair that's the first time he's seen the ball.
Toomer Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 And we have got that Skate barsteward Merson doing the game on Sky so we will not get any credit.
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I gues Gabi doesn't have a right foot then... Well, it was good for his left, but that didn't work either. Scuffed.
Plastic Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Hardly ripping us apart but we have started slow They have sprinted through the middle unchallenged twice in the last 10 minutes. Better finishing and we would be behind.
mrfahaji Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Should do much better than that, Gabbiadini. We were a bit lucky to get that chance though, Redmond having failed to find Tadic with a simple ball moments earlier.
del boy Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 we have no confidence at all, they have their tails up - as always, thats the difference
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 "Counter-attack with Ward-Prowse" 3 guesses what happened next...
