lloydie Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Did he fail one in Turkey? Not read any actual quotes on that unlike the Milan president actually stating he passed one at Milan. First I've heard of it too so doubt it's legit. Additionally I'd probably go as far as to say each club has their own standards of what they would class as fit enough to sign on for them.
maxi_sopez Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 can he train before getting work permit? with the final coming up, I imagine ever minute on the training pitch is crucial if there's a chance of him playing.
Saint_Ash Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 can he train before getting work permit? with the final coming up, I imagine ever minute on the training pitch is crucial if there's a chance of him playing. He'll be able to train, that shouldn't be a problem.
Leslie Charteris Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Did he fail one in Turkey? Not read any actual quotes on that unlike the Milan president actually stating he passed one at Milan. Failed one at Trabzonspor according to this: http://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/breaking-free-agent-defender-snubs-ac-milan-transfer-considers-m-39844
a1ex2001 Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 can he train before getting work permit? with the final coming up, I imagine ever minute on the training pitch is crucial if there's a chance of him playing. He can probably train as long as we are not paying him to do so otherwise he would be working illegally no harm in him having a kick about with his 'mates' at a purpose made top calss facility for professional footballers. Really can't see the work permit being an issue given some of the rubbish that gets through.
Saint_Ash Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Failed one at Trabzonspor according to this: http://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/breaking-free-agent-defender-snubs-ac-milan-transfer-considers-m-39844 Cheers for that. Be interesting to hear what is said about his Saints medical. He must be fit enough now from doing a medical every day!

Caceres is said to have also rejected a move to West Ham due to failed contract negotiations. ... I wonder when this was then ?
Charlie Wayman Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Not looking likely is it, another day of rumours but little substance.
Saint_Ash Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 I looks like he's signed but the club aren't going to announce it until the work permit is through which can take a few days. All we can do is sit back and wait.

sebsanderssaint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 How do you pronounce his name ? A Uruguayan would pronounce it "Kas-air-ez" I believe (with the first being a soft 's')
DT Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 How do you pronounce his name ? Mar-tin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
VectisSaint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 I'm fairly sure Betrand has a medal after playing the final, not sure about Romeu. Hojbjerg has a medal too I believe. So we'd have 4 (if Romeu has one). Romeu definitely has one, even though he did not play in the final. I'd forgotten about Hojbjerg actually so thought it would only be 3.
Graffito Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 How do you pronounce his name ? You stress the syllables which have accents. So, second syllable of Martin and first syllable of Cáceres. Second "c" in Caceres would be a soft "c" in Latin American Spanish.
Dalek2003 Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Once we have confirmation of signing I'll learn to pronounce his name. Anyway, not sure whether to be hopeful of despondent.

saint_stevo Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 It's all done (as i said before) They will turn down his work permit based on the initial criteria, but will get it on appeal due to his international standing. It's all been accounted for and is as expected
Portugalsaint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Excuse the spelling go by this pronunciation Cas Aires There is a town in Spain with the same name between Seville and Salamanca

Disco Stu Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 They will turn down his work permit based on the initial criteria, but will get it on appeal due to his international standing. Just like Football Manager!
saint_stevo Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Not sure they are expecting to be able to announce anything much before the weekend, but he will be at the club all week anyway in some sort of 'training' capacity
The Saint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 How do you pronounce his name ? Can't wait for Dave Merrington's version....

Toadhall Saint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Not sure they are expecting to be able to announce anything much before the weekend, but he will be at the club all week anyway in some sort of 'training' capacity Good as we can use the time to assess his actual fitness etc
saint_stevo Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Good as we can use the time to assess his actual fitness etc He's good to go it seems. Expect a couple of u23 games to start with
Bananaman Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 How do you pronounce his name ? I am learning spanish... allow me to provide the following: The accent (tilde) over the letter 'a' demonstrates where we should put the emphasis. The letter 'c' before an 'e' or an 'i' is pronounced as 'th' Therefore, I am going with Pa-knic-bye

VectisSaint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 He's good to go it seems. Expect a couple of u23 games to start with Still needs work permit and to be registered.
hypochondriac Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Yes I do but not at all wasted as you have been completely hung out to dry in your own words. I don't love the attention but having had you stalk me for some time I am happy to help the person you chose as your next victim. As for Caceres, the work permit could be a problem as he hasn't played the required number of international matches. That was due to injury and he had played plenty before though so an appeal should be successful if it comes to that. If he can get match fit quickly and we can keep him fit, looks like a good signing. Bore off soggy. You weren't even mentioned by me until you started replying to something that was nothing to do with you. Now run off the forum again so we can get back to talking about this player rather than the tripe you seem intent on continuing
St Chalet Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 I've just deleted a whole ream of crap now I am on a web browser. Frankly bored of posters insulting each other or baiting to get others banned, as it would appear are many others.
SW5 SAINT Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Is it worth bothering with the wait to get a work permit clearance, followed by months of getting him match fit?

Give it to Ron Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 (edited) Is it worth bothering with the wait to get a work permit clearance, followed by months of getting him match fit? What other options are there hope Gardos morphs into Virgil? Or stick with Yosh and Stephens and why months he is not a novice and doesn't play in a charge around the pitch position. I don't mind the odd thread but it's as if they are waiting for each other to post then off they go again - childish in the extreme.
Wilf Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Altogether now..... "Caceres - ceres, Whatever will be will be, He's coming from Italy, Caceres -ceres"
Toadhall Saint Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Do we put him into the Injury Watch sticky straight away? As soon as he's signed - tempting fate n all that[emoji6]
Lighthouse Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 I don't mind the odd thread but it's as if they are waiting for each other to post then off they go again - childish in the extreme. Especially as one of the party involved does nothing other than b*tch at other posters. I wont SAYWHOIT_IS but you can probably figure it out.
angelman Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Is it worth bothering with the wait to get a work permit clearance, followed by months of getting him match fit? Who knows, he might actually be quite decent. Have you ever thought of that, or do you prefer a default whinging position?
Miltonaggro Posted 7 February, 2017 Posted 7 February, 2017 Given his resemblance to the loon Osvaldo, we must hope that he doesn't nut Yoshida in training and go on a bender for three years.
