JakkoUK Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Boufal injured now. Footballing gods are not on our side. Think we've be really really really unlucky this season. Everything is going wrong at once. Feel sorry for Puel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OldNick Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Does this fine strategy of ours ever consider : 1. Would the player want to come here 2. Can we afford the fee and wages ? to be fair we did spent a decent amont on Gabbidini. It is the ridiculous decision to let Fonte go without replacing him. By the way how is Fonte doing?
verlaine1979 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 We were creating as many chances as anyone at the start of the season. Defence was strong. No one expected us to have lost both first choice centre backs by January. No we weren't - we've looked toothless and slow all season. We've had a lot of shots all season which count as chances in the football media data models, but since a blocked effort or Steven Davis whacking it into row z count as chances, it's no indication of how well we've played in attack. Which, in case you haven't been watching, is woefully, all season.

Edmonton Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 The fa cup surrender was a disgrace, when we have to put up with displays like this after. Like I said on the day, confidence in football is a wonderful thing, Puel had a chance to build on the liverpool result and push on, but his pragmatic over rotation bull**** did us in, and we've fallen backwards rapidly since.
SNSUN Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 West Ham are 1/9 to win this. It's like printing your own money! (Seeing if reverse psychology works...) Saints are making it very difficult for us 'glass half full' people at the moment. I can't see a new manager making much of a difference, we'll still have a makeshift central defence for the rest of the season. Our only hope is a freak League Cup win instilling some morale in the squad. Today's loss makes it harder that it's West Ham too.
BotleySaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 West Ham defence not had much to do really. They look dangerous every time they counter. Need a goal in the next 5 mins..
Guan 2.0 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Winning 3-1. I appreciate that in my fellow saints fans. Finding humour in the little things. Like our chances of picking up a point or 3.

Viking Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 For those watching the game, aside from the goal, how has Gabbiadini looked?.
OttawaSaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Has Guan lost his job at SFC? Yes. They meant to fire C Puel but unfortunately Guan's real name is P Cool. Blackbox a bit wonky these days.
saintroyt Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Like all leaders in life at some point they mess up,unfortunately think les has had his time transfer policy exposed cannot always buy cheaper quality and if a good commander is needed to lead it is never a comprise for success personally think it's time to step down .you have done well for a while ,pat yourself on the back for that but be ready to concede you cannot justify the mistakes over the last two transfer windows
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Need a Bournemouth equaliser to improve the day slightly A Liverpool goal might also help us
adrian lord Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 17 mins to score 2 goals Big ask - it typically takes this team 17 hours.
Doctoroncall Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I appreciate that in my fellow saints fans. Finding humour in the little things. Like our chances of picking up a point or 3. Any view on what looks like the club management failings in recruitment and strategy or are there any mitigating circumstances we are not aware off?
5string Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I appreciate that in my fellow saints fans. Finding humour in the little things. Like our chances of picking up a point or 3. To be fair, I'm not normally so sarcastic in public - not everyone gets it and my sarcastic style leans towards 'harsh' when I unleash it. Thanks for seeing it. As an honest answer to the original question: Fonte is playing ok, not the best defender individually, but marshalling his troops well, as he did at Saints.

We need someone in who can scrap and give us a bit of a siege mentality to survive this year.
BotleySaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I would prefer 3. Good luck with that. We probably won't even get 1 so I didn't want to appear greedy.
saintwbu Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Need a Bournemouth equaliser to improve the day slightly A Liverpool goal might also help us On what planet would Bournemouth coming level with us by getting a point improve the day slightly?
5string Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 For those watching the game, aside from the goal, how has Gabbiadini looked?. Lively. Positive.
Crab Lungs Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Amazing how Marco Silva has managed to introduce 6 new players to Hull's current lineup and get them to gel, despite how depleted they have been and still are... Hull actually look organised and decent, as opposed to this continuous f()cking mess.
Shanghai Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Lively. Positive. We'll soon knock that out of him!
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 On what planet would Bournemouth coming level with us by getting a point improve the day slightly? Stops Everton going 2 points off 6th - dont want to see Koemans smug face if he gets Everton into top 6
OttawaSaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 6 shots on target today Heisen. I see you have dropped that one from your routine (for now).
saintwbu Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Stops Everton going 2 points off 6th - dont want to see Koemans smug face if he gets Everton into top 6 I'd rather we stayed up, to be honest

Oh well, Les knows best doesn't he.
Viking Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Lively. Positive. How long till it wears off?.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 If I were Puel I'd quit. He's been dealt the ****tiest hand this season.
ArgentinianSaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 We went slowly into an unnecessary relegation battle, we did not strengthen our weaknesses with time, we made them even weaker, we are going doooown. We need to change, 14 more games, if we dont change, we are in serious trouble, we need to finish this season and buy good players in summer, including a manager change of course. puel has to try to get some points to be safe from relegation and thats it, the efl final, could be his great chance to save a seasson in which everything went wrong.
Jonnyboy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 6 shots on target today Heisen. I see you have dropped that one from your routine (for now). Quite, we've played OK. Fine margins again today. If VVD had started it would be 1-1.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I'd rather we stayed up, to be honest Put £40 on at 80/1 the other week. Felt like I needed some insurance on it...
del boy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 If I were Puel I'd quit. He's been dealt the ****tiest hand this season. he still has interesting possibilities
Saint Billy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Unfortunately I can't see Les sacking Puel or indeed anyone doing something about Les.
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Is Kat at the game? Thought i just saw her then?
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Quite, we've played OK. Fine margins again today. If VVD had started it would be 1-1. To be fair though, he isn't playing, and due to that and Les's negligence, we've got big issues.
Jonnyboy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Is that the Saints fans or West ham fans singing the Jose Fonte song?
Saint Albert Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Kat is in the stands with Ralph. I wonder what she's thinking?
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I'd rather we stayed up, to be honest Solved Everton 4-2

This is our season. One game to get something positive. After today, I don't see where our PL points are coming from. I thought we'd win against this lot.
adrian lord Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Kat is in the stands with Ralph. I wonder what she's thinking? 'We are not going to get away with it this year...'
Jimbo Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Struggle to see where we will get four more wins from at this rate....
St Marco Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 If I were Puel I'd quit. He's been dealt the ****tiest hand this season. Can't sack him. He takes his ex clubs to court when he get's sacked. Les won't pay out his contract as that would being admitting he was wrong. Just got to accept this is us for the future.
Wimborne_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I don't blame Puel for this sh*t show, he's been screwed over by the board and a bunch of disinterested players
