Crab Lungs Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 "All we need is a striker, mate" Yes, and we'll create loads more chances, won't we. Nothing to do with the huge gaps in midfield and defence that have been present all-season. Oh, and the third rate goalkeeper diving in slow motion.
beavis17 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 If we don't sign five or six top players in the summer, we'll be in a relegation battle next season. If we don't end up in one this season, that is.
Saint Billy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Not his fault we didn't buy a cb Regardless, do you like the way we play?
jamesfp1 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 If we don't sign five or six top players in the summer, we'll be in a relegation battle next season. If we don't end up in one this season, that is. Think you have to assume we're in one now.
Saint_Tony Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 relegation battle now. Sunderland will certainly fancy their chances against us next week. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
James Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Well and truly in the scrap this year. Cheers Les you fool.
Dalek2003 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 'Crisis what Crisis ?' The motto of Les and the board ! Denial, complacency etc
saintwbu Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Puel shouldn't have injured our best player, the best CB in the league, and then not spent his own money to replace him. Grrrrr. Get him out.
Chris27687 Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Whilst it's clearly immature, and I do hope we bring it back, I'm storming off like a child to have a tantrum.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 What are Puel's options at center back? He's been left with nothing and we're staring at relegation if Van Dijk isn't back within 6 weeks. Oh and why on earth wouldn't he be angling for a move this summer after watching this season unfold, from 6th and in Europe to this utter dreck. Get your money on zlatan to score 2 or more in the final!
Jonnyboy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 I hate how Redmond talks with his hand over his mouth.
Micky Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 The sheer fact that we've gone from a side that finish six last season to talking about relegation says it all really. I give you Leicester City, we will struggle but we will be OK. Sent from my HTC One M8s using Tapatalk
Plastic Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Regardless, do you like the way we play? Obviously not. You would have to be blind.
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Boos and discontent around the stadium. Is ALWAY_SFC running round the stadium calling everyone *****s and blowing kisses to Les Reed. The horrible reality when you realise you want/ need Liverpool to equalise against Hull FFS
alpine_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Puel shouldn't have injured our best player, the best CB in the league, and then not spent his own money to replace him. Grrrrr. Get him out. Yep. Always someone elses fault, right ?
OldNick Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 relegation battle now. Sunderland will certainly fancy their chances against us next week. Sent from my SM-G920F using TapatalkSunderland strengthened in the transfer window, we bought a forward. After their game against Palace today they may well be up for it. Our players will be out not to get hurt
adrian lord Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Last 2 windows dreadful, including the appointment of Puel. Clusterfeck.
5string Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Carroll's coming off for Lanzini Will this give our defence more confidence? And will the rest of the team play better as a result? Need 3 goals. 3 (three) goals. In one half.
trousers Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Permission to ditch my optimism please. I'm ready to join the doom and gloom club.
del boy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Well and truly in the scrap this year So much of the game is belief and confidence. We can't play with confidence with our CB situation, and it shows. West Ham sensed that and have stepped up, can't believe were making them look good. We were short of quality CBs before VVD got injured. It all starts with a sound defence...
Edmonton Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Puel's coaching paying off on Gabbadiani as he misses a sitter.
Sheaf Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Forster has to take all the responsibility for that 3rd goal, for not setting the wall up right. The way it was set out, we basically invited Noble to hit it, knowing full well that the slightest touch would put it in the net.
Jonnyboy Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 "All we need is a striker, mate" Yes, and we'll create loads more chances, won't we. Nothing to do with the huge gaps in midfield and defence that have been present all-season. Oh, and the third rate goalkeeper diving in slow motion. We were creating as many chances as anyone at the start of the season. Defence was strong. No one expected us to have lost both first choice centre backs by January.
alpine_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Will this give our defence more confidence? And will the rest of the team play better as a result? Need 3 goals. 3 (three) goals. In one half.
saintant Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Puel out of his depth and needs to return to France where he is better suited.
5string Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 How did that miss?! Needed that one. Seriously. Had a chance if it went in, but as it didn't...
alpine_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 We were creating as many chances as anyone at the start of the season. Defence was strong. No one expected us to have lost both first choice centre backs by January. Yep and we had no time to do anything about it despite Fonte's whining since September, right ?
Edmonton Saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Oh and another injury to sicknote Boufal.
Wimborne_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Looks fairly serious for boufal, signalled to the bench straight away
alpine_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Boufal now crocked. That looks bad. Oh well, I guess we were getting bored with Premiership football...
adrian lord Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Yep and we had no time to do anything about it despite Fonte's whining since September, right ? It's fine-we always have at least two replacements lined up for any position, in the black box
Heisenberg Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Weren't all the rotations supposed to help reduce injuries?
BotleySaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Really amazing the number of players we sign that are made of glass.
Crab Lungs Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 We were creating as many chances as anyone at the start of the season. Defence was strong. No one expected us to have lost both first choice centre backs by January. I don't think so. We were mostly insipid, but I'm sure someone can come up with some crossing stats, or shots stats, that'll somehow validate that argument. No point crossing into a box with only one of your own teammates in it. Likewise shooting and hitting row z isn't a chance. We're sideways passing, boring, disorganised, unfit and quite frankly, embarrassing.
Mr X Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Not his fault we didn't buy a cb no but it is his fault weve played p i s s poor football for the majority of the season beyond dull & it is his fault that we over rotate & the players never get a chance to settle...... & the fa cup throwaway was a disgrace.......... overall league cup aside puel has been poor!
OttawaSaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 No I am not. I could see complacency creeping in and I was not alone. You've been saying this for years and been wrong every single time.
St Marco Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 It just get's worse and worse. We need to bring them druids out of retirement or something.
5string Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 It gets worse. Boufal injured. Long on. Which makes me think... will we be relegated before the cricket season starts?
alpine_saint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 It's fine-we always have at least two replacements lined up for any position, in the black box Does this fine strategy of ours ever consider : 1. Would the player want to come here 2. Can we afford the fee and wages ?
stknowle Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Jesus Christ, I bet he's out for at least a month.
BotleySaint Posted 4 February, 2017 Posted 4 February, 2017 Cedric getting done again and again. Needs to stay back a bit
