SKD Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Intresting signing. As it's a loan it's pretty low risk I would say. Probably cover for the injured McCarthy (god help us if we have to start Lewis in the PL or even worse the final) and if he impresses I wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Gazza
Chez Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Good move. Puel has little confidence in Taylor and Lewis doesn't look ready yet. We needed to sort out the reserve keeper situation and hopefully this lad will impress if called upon.

Guess it was an insurance policy that hasn't met expectations.
Baird of the land Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Assuming this means Mccarthy is out for the rest of the season which is a shame. Still want to know why we signed Taylor, did we just want to emulate Man City when they signed Richard Wright.
a1ex2001 Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 I would have said Taylor was a moment of desperation mistake but he sits on the bench for league games so is only one pulled muscle away from being called into action! I certainly won't complain about a loan goalkeeper seems like a sensible option if McCarthy is out for the season.
DuncanRG Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 A necessity, really, but we may not see him play.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Saturday's programme contained a feature on Taylor which explained the rationale of his signing
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Great, now can we focus on signing a CB? It's desperately needed!
Pass the Dutchie Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 I don't know much about him, but if we felt we needed him I'm glad we got him! Every new signing brings a certain amount of excitement.
Give it to Ron Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Saturday's programme contained a feature on Taylor which explained the rationale of his signing Which was? I am totally at a loss why we signed him but scared to play him. Nothing can convince me playing Lewis against Arsenal was right.

Le Timmier Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Great, now can we focus on signing a CB? It's desperately needed! You really should let the club know quickly
benjii Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 I wonder how much Taylor is paid? Utterly pointless signing, by the looks of it!
Toomer Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 Good signing gets Lewis out of the firing line so he can progress with youngsters.
Convict Colony Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 this signing says a lot about how Puel views Dave Watson as a goalkeeping coach in my opinion. He goes for a player he knows from france rather than a goalie recommended by Dave in UK.

He goes for a player he knows from france rather than a goalie recommended by Dave in UK. How do you know that Watson recommended anyone? Or that they were available? Or do you mean Taylor?
GGalpin Posted 31 January, 2017 Posted 31 January, 2017 How do you know that Watson recommended anyone? Or that they were available? Or do you mean Taylor? Watson normally does the scouting for the goalkeepers. Forster and Lewis were both his recommendations.

Pwoite Posted 1 February, 2017 Posted 1 February, 2017 Look at Taylor's career record on Wikipaedia. He is 35 or something but has hardly played for all the clubs he has joined. Always a bench warmer. Very sad in some ways. Guess we as paying him absolute peanuts compared to Theresa of the squad, but if we don't plan to play him ever, what's the point.

Theresa is one lucky lady!
davefizzy14 Posted 1 February, 2017 Posted 1 February, 2017 Good to have extra back up in the Gk department. Welcome onboard Moeuz. He does sound like a good prospect.

OttawaSaint Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 Martina playing centre back...?! That's Captain Martina to you...
trousers Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 That's Captain Martina to you... Just when you think it couldn't get any weirder...
Wimborne_saint Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 Seager has scored, first goal from open play since he's been back I believe. Only penalties before that Video of goal here:
DuncanRG Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 Martina playing centre back...?! I recall when he signed the press release talked about his ability to play across the back four. Didn't realise they meant for the U23s!
beatlesaint Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 I recall when he signed the press release talked about his ability to play across the back four. Didn't realise they meant for the U23s! obviously investigating the options and possibilities of him acting as stand in for VVD
Crab Lungs Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 obviously investigating the options and possibilities of him acting as stand in for VVD Is it an interesting possibility though?

A Saints centre forward who was in the right place at the right time and scored a decent poacher's goal. The first team beckons... ?
beatlesaint Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 Is it an interesting possibility though? almost certainly
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 6 February, 2017 Posted 6 February, 2017 How did Hassen get on tonight? Anyone know? Got a clean sheet with Cuco playing centre half so that has to be a plus!

One for a young guy I'd not heard about that we are showing an interest in.

Too soon for Sunderland but hopefully gets Fraser looking over his shoulder and fitter as well- lame effort with WHU's second goal.
Toadhall Saint Posted 8 February, 2017 Posted 8 February, 2017 I've only seen the highlights but in those he wasn't tested.
