Edmonton Saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Is it? I'd rather have two cup finals than finish 7th in the league. Agree.
Ohio Saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Oh crap. I put aside a couple of hours to listen to the match, and then I saw our team.
wessex saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 A couple of million less for every place lower in the league we finish. Personally would rather look back in 20 years and look back fondly at the season when we won both cups, rather than how we finished 11th rather than 9th and be chuffed at the extra 4m profit we made that season. badgerx16 Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Can I just point out that we haven't lost yet.
DT Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Gardos. I mean what? Looks like we don't care about this one then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Baird of the land Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Why not rest the players against swansea when we've got zero left to play for in the league.
Greenridge Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Happy with that team. Just glad we're playing Arsenal rather than Wycombe In what way are you 'happy' with that team? And Wycombe, the team who just lost?
trousers Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 In what way are you 'happy' with that team? And Wycombe, the team who just lost? Yeah, you're right. On reflection, I'm dreadfully unhappy with the team. Puel out.
Greenridge Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Yeah, you're right. On reflection, I'm dreadfully unhappy with the team. Puel out. It was a pretty straightforward question. I'm interested why you are happy but it doesn't seem you know why. Fair enough.
VectisSaint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 The league is more important financially. The higher we finish, the more money we get. Winning the FA Cup would be worth more than one place gained in the PL though when the TV revenue and gate receipts are taken into account, making the Final is also a ticket to Europe. Still would prioritise the League over the Cup at this stage. Biggest problem with today's team is that apart from Long there is not an experienced leader on the pitch, think I might have put Davis in there with that in mind.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Is Gardos the new Yoshida? He's always looked okay the few times I've seen him play. Is he now the Danny Fox of the team?
Ohio Saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Can I just point out that we haven't lost yet. On the plus side, a win is always better when your expectations start at rock bottom.
Katalinic Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 The league is more important financially. The higher we finish, the more money we get. Yep, I'd much rather we had £5m extra in the bank than actually try to win a cup. The mass rotation is a gamble but let's hope it works.
Ohio Saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Yep, I'd much rather we had £5m extra in the bank than actually try to win a cup. How much will 5M quid be in Chinese Ding Dong, or whatever their currency is?
Greenridge Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Can I just point out that we haven't lost yet. Arsenal are putting out a weakened team too so anything is a possibility that's for sure.
5string Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Apart from Gardos, Isgrove & Lewis, all the other players have had decent runs in the 1st team at various times. Thanks to Puel's 'yoof' policy.
Oldeuboi Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 I did get the feeling people were just waiting for something to pounce on again...
adrian lord Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 The league is more important financially. The higher we finish, the more money we get. Yea. Did you see the beautiful set of accounts we posted last year? Let's hope we do even better this financial year, and fill that Trophy Cabinet with lever arch files.
mitch01 Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Resting Yoshida for the big games. Strange times
Raging Bull Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Gardos. GARDOS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk What about him? Personally I'm glad he's play.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 The league is more important financially. The higher we finish, the more money we get. We (the supporters) won't get any money. We will get the joy and excitement of a good cup run. Excited to see Gardos at work anyway.
Window Cleaner Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Arsenal are putting out a weakened team too so anything is a possibility that's for sure. Arsenal have a couple of weak elements, we have a reserve team. Still it's the Cup so always plenty of room for the odd surprise.
Pancake Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Is this being shown for free on BT or anyone have a stream?
the_barmy_saints_army Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 At least the bench looks strong so things can be changed if need be. St mary's should be rocking too...
trousers Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 It was a pretty straightforward question. I'm interested why you are happy but it doesn't seem you know why. Fair enough. Indeed
stknowle Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Lewis, Martina, Gardos, Stephens, McQueen, Reed, Clasie, Hojbjerg, Sims, Isgrove, Long Subs: Taylor, Yoshida, Bertrand, Davis, Romeu, Tadic, Redmond Wow that's terrible Strong bench!!
Pamplemousse Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 BT Sport will no doubt focus on that nutty clown fan
Pass the Dutchie Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 That would only be the case if had been called up but refused to play. He was called up, then got injured and they subsequently released him back to us. Puel says he can't play because of the national team.
the_barmy_saints_army Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 BT Sport will no doubt focus on that nutty clown fan If he's our equivalent of John Westwood I'm fine with that
Ohio Saint Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Puel says he can't play because of the national team. I didn't want Puel to play anyway.
simo Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Is Gardos the new Yoshida? He's always looked okay the few times I've seen him play. Is he now the Danny Fox of the team? He's the worst player everyone has hardly seen play because one of our worst team performances I can remember!
Saint_clark Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 Looking at Arsenals line up we can definitely still win this. We need to test Gardos at some point, no use just writing off a £7million (£10+million with wages) investment.
adrian lord Posted 28 January, 2017 Posted 28 January, 2017 It's anyone's call with these 2 line-ups.
