Europe next season?

Now that we're in the final, assuming Man Utd get to the final as well, does this mean we go into qualifying rounds of Europa League even if we win or lose, if United finish 6th or higher? Anyone know the rules?

I don't think runners up in the league cup qualify, but I could be wrong

The place goes back to the Premier League if the cup is won by a team that qualifies for Europe by another route.

The runners-up of both cups get nothing these days. A recent change on the FA Cup, but the League Cup runners up have never got anything anyway.

But another way to look at it is if we win we go straight through to the group stages - no qualifiers. If we lose and Everton sneak into 7th they'll be playing the qualifiers in late July which as we know is Sh1t

Nah I would not mind 3rd round qualifiers that much (ofc I would prefer to be in groups directly), but the excitement of the draw and getting some random team in Europe excites me!

Are you sure? I thought that's for the FA cup winner? Aren't league cup winners the lowest seed and have to qualify?

 

Anyway, getting ahead of ourselves. Have to beat United first. Or Hull (crosses fingers).
