Give it to Ron Posted 19 January, 2017 Share Posted 19 January, 2017 Ken Monkou started a pancake restaurant in the Netherlands after his football career ended in 2000 (after a year at Huddersfield Towns AFC), but sadly that went bankrupt. Ken was a football agent for a while and bought over a few from Holland - he sat behind me one pre-season at Eastleigh where a few of his lads were trialling they were poor! Pass the Dutchie Posted 20 January, 2017 Share Posted 20 January, 2017 Which ex player has been the most successful outside of football? Of course he's not very much a true ex Saint, but Eljero Elia is currently making millions outside of football as well as still being a succesful player. He owns fashion brand Balr (together with Gregory van der Wiel and Demy de Zeeuw), football news website by433.com, co-owns Footballtemple and just opened a cocktailbar (Callisto) in The Hague. Hatch Posted 20 January, 2017 Share Posted 20 January, 2017 Which ex player has been the most successful outside of football? and incidentally, why hasn't he been knighted yet, seeing as they are given out like sweets today to anyone who can run about for a bit. Convict Colony Posted 20 January, 2017 Share Posted 20 January, 2017 Last I heard Van Gobbel was on the run from Dutch police. No idea how that panned out. You can read all about it in his autobiography "Uli Uli" and he is youth coach at Feyenoord Book: http://www.veltman-uitgevers.nl/sport/2146-uli-uli-ulrich-van-gobbel-zwijgt-niet-meer-9789492199867.html

I think it basically relies on people nominating him.
