saintwbu Posted 12 January, 2017 Share Posted 12 January, 2017 Wow. Free use of his free box! He did tweet last night how he'd done his bit in the form of his sale, and then subsequent sell on fees to be fair to him. I know that's not from his own pocket but I guess he might feel he can't chuck money at something that may have been mismanaged on the back of big fees that were the result of his success. They're not a charity. (I know nothing about Poole so I am making some assumptions here, sorry to anyone who will tell me I'm wrong!)
Pass the Dutchie Posted 12 January, 2017 Share Posted 12 January, 2017 It's easy to criticize someone with a lot of money - and it's important to not forget that he doesn't have to do a thing - but if he (on a £55k/w salary) really cares I hope he won't let his old love go down if they don't get the money together. Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 12 January, 2017 Share Posted 12 January, 2017 why doesn't he just donate the money needed? Couple of week's work
Pamplemousse Posted 12 January, 2017 Share Posted 12 January, 2017 I wonder if he would actually be allowed to give them the money under FA rules.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 12 January, 2017 Share Posted 12 January, 2017 It's a bit exaggerated that the op states "saving them". They were promoted on the understanding that they had to get their ground in order by the deadline or be relegated, they're not going bust. From what I understand they thought Eddie Mitchell was going to cough up as he had an option to buy 51% of the club , he's dropped out so they're panicking. Jackie@home Posted 13 January, 2017 Share Posted 13 January, 2017 Long standing problems with Poole Council giving them no help or support to find a site for a new stadium after they were ejected from Poole Stadium that they shared alongside speedway and greyhounds for many years, not financial mismanagement. Plus not helped by the nimbys of Poole rejected and objecting to any options for a new stadium.
rooney Posted 13 January, 2017 Share Posted 13 January, 2017 Soft spot for my Home Town Club and played on the old Stadium ground many times. I used to catch tadpoles as a kid at the Tatnam Ground so the club must have spent a great deal already, even to get it up to current standard. Perhaps the Cherries could help them out just as we helped them a few years ago.
sammysaint Posted 13 January, 2017 Share Posted 13 January, 2017 I doubt he is allowed to donate money as the FA will have a stupid rule to prevent it.

There are plenty of extremely rich people in this country many of whom could help out the likes of Poole town. Footballers get it in the neck because they are so high profile. I'm pretty sure any of use could help out a worthy local cause by donating two weeks of our wages, but do we do that ? As an aside why is your user name Rooney ? The FA and the Premier League do not pass down enough imho whilst many of us donate regularly to many different charities from taxed income nothing like a present day footballer earns. As to my User name, think Del Boy and the bracelet present and you will probably guess the reason.
sotonjoe Posted 13 January, 2017 Share Posted 13 January, 2017 What a tight git. Why not actually put his hand in his pocket instead of spunking it all on horses? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ringwood Posted 13 January, 2017 Share Posted 13 January, 2017 well there's a bloke on Sandbanks and his dog who seem to know where money can be found , so maybe Rosie 47 can pass a donation from the Monaco account?
