Our fixtures during the Africa Cup of Nations:

Liverpool (h)

Burnley (a)

Leicester City (h)

Liverpool (a)

Swansea (a)

West Ham (h)

We'll miss Boufal (Morocco) for at least the first Liverpool match, the Burnley match and the Leicester City match, and possibly for all of them.

Liverpool will miss Mané (Senegal) for the first match and possibly for the second.

Burnley is unaffected.

Leicester City will miss Amartey (Ghana), Mahrez (Algeria) and Slimani (Algeria).

Swansea is unaffected.

West Ham will possibly miss Kouyaté (Senegal) and Ayew (Ghana) if they progress to the semi-finals.

Based purely on that, we'll want Morocco to do badly and Senegal and Ghana to reach at least the semi-finals.

Who will you support (if anyone)?

Someone was on social media claiming that Boufal picked up an injury recently, according to BBC they claim. No word from the club and can't seem to find a link however.

Saw it earlier that they're assessing his fitness due to a knock....hopefully he gets an injury which will keep him out 2 weeks and back for Leicester !

I'm quite happy for him to continue his fine form and get let down by the rest of his team, he's been looking better and better in recent games, going past people with such ease.

Boufal arrived in the UAE yesterday and was assessed by the Moroccan physio. It appears that Boufal isn't fit and it's a recurrence of an injury he picked up playing for us recently. He's already back in England.

Search for 'Boufal blessé' on twitter (Boufal injured in French) and you'll see how upset the Moroccan supporters are. They're not happy. One of them thinks this is a conspiracy and wants FIFA to punish us.

So do I!

Oh well :)

  • 2 weeks later...
Mane missed the 5th penalty in the shoot out. They lost 5-4 to Cameroon. It was a **** penalty. The other 9 were great.

At least he can come back to Scouseland, as they've missed him so much!

Be interesting if he comes back and Liverpool get going again, how many if the fatter cats than Liverpool will come sniffing around for him this summer
