Half way through the season we're going to be 1 point ahead of Burnley.

And on the same number of points and 3 places higher than we were at the same stage last season :)

it was around this time last season that Koeman was under real pressure and 2 games away from te sack.....apparently

McQueen woth a cross in and everyone just stood there

We've crossed the ball more times than any other team in the Prem. I have no idea why the **** we are doing this, it's not like any of our ****ing strikers are any good in the air. How many headed goals have we ****ing scored?????

Dreadfully boring inept team to watch regardless of result.

I'm not a pessimist type, but realistically I fear we're going to be looking at teams below us in the table with just a hint of worry for the rest of the season.

But last season we finished really well. If we continue as we are we will finish near the bottom of the league.

Make no mistake - unless something major changes we could well be in for a relegation scrap. We are terrible without any threat as an attacking force.

You are not allowed to make such statements according to the 'happy clappy' brigade.

Why do we persist with this bloody tactic of always playing the ball out wide and trying to get bloody crosses in that we never ever win?

We are so boring and predictable teams have us sussed out good and proper.

Exactly this.

Indeed. And if we'd have continued the same as we were this time last season the same would have applied last season. We turned things around after a poor November/December last season so why does it follow that we won't/can't this season? It may well transpire that we don't have the same level of improvement in the second half of this season but it may transpire that we do. Who knows?

Our performance against Spurs was better than this, i'm usually not negative but Puel clearly is failing to inspire anyone at the moment. I'll be happy to see us finish mid-table and then have a change at the top he's not going to improve us.

Another dreadful corner from our specialist JWP. Can't even get it over the first man. Really atrocious

We are in an awful situation.

The club clearly do not want to spend money anymore.

Who is responsible for the team selection and tactics ? Is it Puel or Reed ?

The players dont look interested. I cannot forget VVDs interview after the first few games. Fonte is more-or-less frozen out.

I think a clean sweep is needed at the top again. Puel will only be the sacrificial lamb.

The omens are poor for any such recovery, with an uninspiring

Puel and weaker squad.

Was 2 months ago when Sims impressed us all against Everton, he was fearless and attacking was his first /only thought. He was brilliant that day

Hes played 30 minutes since then and Puel has managed to mold him into his type of player (head down, backwards or side passing) Puel is not giving youth a chance he is killing its spirit. He managed to do same with Hoj

So many underperforming with Puel here

VVD REDCARD perfect day. Happy new year PUEL

You'll probably find people were saying the same thing about Koeman this time last year too.

True, and my comment also does a disservice to Burnley, who are doing pretty well. However, I'm sure that most would have expected us to fairing a little better, and others have mentioned, our form from the turn of the year was pretty exceptional - in fact I recall it was second only to Leicester.

And VVD is off. Great.
