Dalek2003 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 we just aren't good enough under puel......... yes we have beaten by the better team but we never even look like scoring or even dangerous We need that extra striker....BTW don't we miss the speed and unpredictable running of Mane.
adrian lord Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 1-4 now, im out. Fortunately redmond is not playing next match. Need a striker urgently, now we have no more europa league we could finish top 6, but playing like this, it will be imposible, boring no attacking, vvd as our scorer You'd be better off following River Plate, old chap!
Micky Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 ah well you can see why vic ****ed us off for that lot. miles better You can see why all of the players that have left over the last 3 or 4 years have left. They have gone to much better teams than us. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
saintsmike25 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 I don't think the 4-1 defeat is the fault of the strikers somehow, more the fact we ran into a good side who punished us once we went to ten-men.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Time for a change of manager. Really? Wow there are some weird people on this forum.
Dalek2003 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Dire from ward prowse. Amazed he stayed on. And Forster is totally invisible. Slow to go down. Slow reflexes. Poor off his line. And can't kick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Time to give Forster a time on the bench ?
sfc1976 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 JWP is a poor player, just brushed aside for the fourth. Offers so little.
St Marco Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Lucky it's only 4 tbh. Crossbar and a crap penalty helped us out. Really poor tactics Imo. Midfield just never looks right with jwp in there. Davis looked ****ed off when he was subbed. He was our best player I thought.
Crab Lungs Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 And Forster is totally invisible. Slow to go down. Slow reflexes. Poor off his line. And can't kick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Mmmmhmmmmm kinda said that for years. Has belting games but in general inbetween, he's at best average and protected by a usually stubborn CB and DM bloc. The midfield part of of that has been sold off, so no surprised well concede more now. Forster very exposed and it's probably revealing his frailties more
adrian lord Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 This match was a microcosm of Puel over the season - total inconsistency. Superb high pressing energetic football for 20 mins, then mental collapse at a setback. No steel.
Greenridge Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 What was Romeu doing for the last two goals?! Should be dropped for that alone. Awful. He's knackered from spending the previous 80 minutes doing the work of the whole midfield.
DT Posted 28 December, 2016 Author Posted 28 December, 2016 One absolute useless goalkeeper. He is really terrible and has been all season. Seemingly undroppable though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ade Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Right or wrong...I had absolutely no confidence in Forster getting anywhere near that.....pretty shocking his loss of form and confidence Wrong mate. There was nothing Forster could have done for any of the goals. They have been better than us all over the pitch. They have better players and a better manager who has got his tactics spot on tonight. We look like a team that has no confidence at all in this game. Down to 10 men against a better side isn't easy. We need to chalk this one off and move on to the next game.
Shance Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 This match was a microcosm of Puel over the season - total inconsistency. Superb high pressing energetic football for 20 mins, then mental collapse at a setback. No steel. Exactly this.
niceandfriendly Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Mike Dean is either a cheat or a complete moron, not sure which. Notice how they've had ALL the luck tonight, every little deflection or 50/50, just one of those nights. And it had to come against a disgusting outfit such as Spurs didn't it.
Saint86 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Puel has to go. That or whoever is responsible for recruitment. Lose 4-1 spurs Palace 3-0 0-0 vs 10man stoke Out of the europa league after that ****ing disgrace vs some 3rd rate Israeli team Lost 1-0 to prague lost 2-1 to hull didn't scratch liverpool and spent 90 home minutes clinging to our own goal line Its just appalling, so many dropped points and games where we don't even compete let alone achieve the expected minimum. But don't worry folks. We beat the mighty cherries on one of their off days so we'll be fine.
Wiggles31 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Forster is having a really bad season. He's made two poor kicks this game. No other mistake I can note.
austsaint Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 He's knackered from spending the previous 80 minutes doing the work of the whole midfield. Romeu carried that midfield tonight - that was the glaring deficiency tonight, despite the sending off.
Saint Billy Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 To be fair we have had this coming for ages.
del boy Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 You can see why all of the players that have left over the last 3 or 4 years have left. They have gone to much better teams than us. I only keep looking at the forum for gold dust like this
5string Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Hmm, not our best. Ah well, only 3 days til the next game. Time to move on.
Saint-Beer Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Get a grip everyone. Pathetic reaction from so many. We are down to 10 men and been hit for pressing for an equaliser, plus they are probably tired at this point. Go back to the start of this thread and so many positive comments about how we played for the first 15 minutes. The reaction to Redmond going off by some on here about missing games is a poor show. He did fine in this game. Before this game we were better off than this time last year! Nothing wrong with the manager or of the way we play. Just a stronger team and Puel needs time to add some extra players. Sent from my SM-J500FN using Tapatalk
Ade Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 He's knackered from spending the previous 80 minutes doing the work of the whole midfield. Spot on mate. IMO Romeu has been our best player tonight and has run himself into the ground covering the rest of the midfield. We've been abject apart from him.

Window Cleaner Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Ah well got tonked in the end, could have been 6 though. Too many shortasses in midfield.

lumuah Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 He's made two poor kicks this game. No other mistake I can note. Other than everything on target seems to go in. Yep, he's great. Bring back Tommy Fourpast.

Pamplemousse Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Beat West Brom and beat Everton and bish bash bosh everything will be alright. If you had said we'd be 8th in the league at this stage I'd have been thrilled.

We'll be more suited to coming up against a Tony Pulis team whose league position flatters them.
Wiggles31 Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Other than everything on target seems to go in. Yep, he's great. Bring back Tommy Fourpast. They were all good finishes. This forum just needs a scapegoat and this season Forster is the man.
adrian lord Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 It's the europa league performances that did it for me. Why bother qualifying when we chuck the games. Would have been nice to try in one of those games... oh well we have a LC semi final to look forward to against Liverpool. Sure we will really give that a go... Quite. It is the futility that sets in once you realise we throw the highest level of competition we will ever play in.
SFC Chris Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 He's knackered from spending the previous 80 minutes doing the work of the whole midfield. You think?! Davis was our best midfielder. Romeu ineffective and JWP non-existent. Really poor performance overall.
ADutchSaint Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Absolutely outclassed all over the pitch. Our midfield was completely overrun and out muscled... Pretty fancy team they got their with Dembele, Alli, Eriksen, Wanyama.... Very complete midfield, something we don't have at all. I'm afraid this week with 3 games ain't going to be a good one.
Micky Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 I only keep looking at the forum for gold dust like this It's not gold dust you fool, it's a true statement. I have nothing against any of the players, or managers, they have left for better sides than us. Quite simply true. Sent from my Hudl 2 using Tapatalk
lumuah Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 They were all good finishes. This forum just needs a scapegoat and this season Forster is the man. It's not just this game though, is it.
OttawaSaint Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Shocking from Heisenberg tonight, 10 days to prepare for that. He huffed and puffed but the quality just wasn't there. Awful. Needs a tactical rethink. 2 very half hearted bites, is mental fitness and issue?
Saint-Beer Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 They were all good finishes. This forum just needs a scapegoat and this season Forster is the man. People seem to have it in for Redmond as well.. Sent from my SM-J500FN using Tapatalk
JakkoUK Posted 28 December, 2016 Posted 28 December, 2016 Our biggest problem was sitting off. When we were pressing them Spurs were perplexed and couldn't hold the ball. We then invited them on, they got a goal and got back in the game...and then we continued to invite them on and got a red card. I have faith Puel, but the playing style does need to be more positive as you can see it working when we actually do!!
