Chris27687 Posted 20 December, 2016 Share Posted 20 December, 2016 This seems to be getting a bit of traction about the place - seems sufficiently random that there might be something in it and worth it's own thread. Short story - used to play under Puel so we think we might have a chance - Atletico also interested. Having a blinding season for Nice at the moment and enjoying life at the top of the table. I guess he would be a potential Davo replacement down the line - adding a bit more attacking flair to our midfield 3 which is currently a bit too defensive in my opinion. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wylan-cyprien/profil/spieler/182889 https://www.whoscored.com/Players/123873 Why not. SKD Posted 20 December, 2016 Share Posted 20 December, 2016 Oh goody, another midfielder ... I actually think that's what we are missing (along with a goal scorer). Davis aside, we've not really got anyone who can break into the box and has got a bit of attacking flair in our midfield 3.

Badger Posted 20 December, 2016 Share Posted 20 December, 2016 If Nice are currently top of their league why would they start to dismantle their team at this stage of the season ? Unless they are in financial turmoil, or the player throws a strop and sulks to leave of course.

They are like our French Cousin.

Replace 'Nice' with 'Saints' and 'top of their league' with any of our record breaking finishing positions and you're onto something.

Pamplemousse Posted 20 December, 2016 Share Posted 20 December, 2016 French clubs don't have much money though, not like we do (apart from PSG and Monaco) Any decent offer and the club will be willing to sell, and the player would want a decent pay rise too. Saint IQ Posted 21 December, 2016 Share Posted 21 December, 2016 He should stay at Nice for now, he's only been there since the summer and could win a title. Won't get enough game time at a big club yet and won't get a title at a club our size. Plus Nice is well nice

Mr X Posted 22 December, 2016 Share Posted 22 December, 2016 If he can score goals then yes as none of our current midfield seems capable of it, if we can sign this player & another quality striker than we will be alright...... if we sign no one in the trasfer than i cant see us finishing in the top ten even, Bournemouth game aside we generally don't score enough goals

We have scored enough goals to be 7th after 17 games. It would be nice if we scored more, but it is possible with a defence as good as ours for us to still finish high despite not scoring many. A 1-0 win gives as many points as a 4-1 win.

Presumably you'd agree though that the margins of success are much wider and more secure with a 4-1 win than a 1-0 win, so it's better to aspire to the former rather than rely on the latter? Window Cleaner Posted 26 December, 2016 Share Posted 26 December, 2016 I'd think we have more than enough midfielders anyway. This one is probably no better or no worse than those we have already. Ligue 1 is a bit of a substandard affair anyway. Even serial failures like Balotelli and Falcao look good in it. Look at that bloke Sunderland bought from Bordeaux last winter, Wabi Khazri or something...what's he done since?
