Barnsley v Saints - Post match reaction

A win is a win

3 points is 3 points

So this is GREAT news.

BUT :(

If it is really true that Barnsley were all over us and that the win was undeserved, what is the chance of us following this up with a similar result in the next match ???

Let's just hope that the confidence boost, new faces, and a fresh effort by JP to prevent this going to the young players heads (especially that of McGoldrick) make the difference from all the other false dawns

As someone else has pointed out, this is actually a very funny comment. After the last game you said:

Yes. We didnt win.

I am utterly disinterested in whether we strung together x number of passes and pretty triangles. The scoreline is all. We didnt win. We were crap. I havent assigned blame anywhere, but we are now languishing second from bottom after failing to win another home game. WE WERE CRAP.

And now we have won so by your logic we must have been fantastic yet you are criticising the performance! You can't have it both ways Alps!

Terrible game, both teams were pretty poor to be honest. I've been very critical of McGoldrick this season, but credit where credit is due, he's done the business the last few games for us. Saga didn't get into the game much, but it was good to see him back. Saeijs made the occasional mistake but apart from that looked solid. Davis made some great saves yet again and Schneiderlin had a good game too. We've played better and lost plenty of times so we probably deserved that bit of luck. Absolutely must must win against Donny now

Well at least that is one competition you'd win unless there is something about S W that we don't know about :D

Well... my colleagues in the local women's footie team don't think much of my technique for somebody so (ahem... experienced), but they didn't have compulsory hockey at school..:-)

I've certainly never had any complaints in the showers although our physio (yes.. it's a lot more serious here) has commented on my strong thighs!!

Not at all. I am pleased with the win, but am expressing concerns about our ability to carry that forward. There is NO contradiction in those two posts whatsoever.

Is it really so hard for the likes of you and NickG to understand ? I didnt realise some people were so dim...Are you that superifical and one-dimensional, or are you that childish to pick a fight when we are all happy to have won ?

You made a fool of yourself by saying we were crap against reading as we didn't win. You see this is what happens when your opinion of a performance is based solely on a result. It wouldn't surprise me if we actually played better in the reading game but the result alone would not be able to tell you that. As for the insults I'm not going to get involved. I'll let others make their mind up but the contradictions and inaccuracies in much of what you post seem obvious to me (as well as denying you even said things!)

I havent denied anything - I dispute your assertion over a contradiction.

I regret you seem to have so many problems reading and/or with the English language.

As for not getting into insults, he who cast the first stone.....you came looking for an argument.

Where did I say we were crap against Barnsley ? I simply wrote that assuming that the reports of them being all over us were true, it was somewhat undeserving.

Get a grip, FFS. You are the one making a fool of yourself.

Going by reports of the game, we were lucky, it so easily could have been another defeat if not for KD.

Although its great to get the three points, the performance will have to be improved if we are to win against Doncaster and Norwich.

So lets enjoy the win, but be very concerned that we won't get that lucky very often.

What bolllocks. I expressly wrote I would rather we played CRAP and won.

I beg to differ my friend...

I will happily play crap all season like we did against Barnsley if it means we win more than we lose. But what will be crap is if we go and play Doncaster off the park and still fail to win. That would be crap.

Yep, agree completely. Though for consistency's sake and to stop hypochondriac getting a stiffy, I dispute we played crap against Barnsley.

Maybe we were lucky or undeserving, but the result was right.

Typical. Haven´t had access to t´internet for a week and Saints go and win. The way things are, I don´t care if we stick 10 men on the goal line for 89 mins, then nick a goal of DMG´s arse in stoppage time.

Well done Saints. Nice to see we´ve found the cash to pay for Saga and a defence. Slightly worried that we sign a LB shortly before Skacel gets an ´injury´ in training.

Time for you to disappear again before our Donny game ;)
