saints pub on the IOW

Spending the weekend on the IOW, what's the best saints friendly pub to see the game Sunday. Staying near Ryde

Dont know about Ryde but The Horseshoe in Northwood always has some Saints fans in.

Ryde is full of skates. Better off heading more towards Cowes I'd say.

Ryde is very Pompey. Newport 50/50. Cowes much more Saints orientated, West Wight also. If I were you I'd head to cowes and go with the flow.

I can't think of a specific 'Saints pub' in Ryde and there aren't many with Sky but The Crown will almost certainly be showing the match.

 

The Crown is in the centre of town (St Thomas's Square, where the High St joins Union St) ... I watched a Saints game there a couple of years ago - several Saints fans were visibly present and no obvious Pompey fans.

 

A couple of miles to the west, on the main road into Newport, is The Sloop. I believe this has Sky.

The Sloop (Wootton Bridge) is showing the game. The Cedars further up the High Street will also probably show the game but it is a bit of a Pompey pub.
