Dark Munster Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Ulloa wants regular football. Yes, that's quite common amongst crap players.
EBS1980 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Berahino please! Why? His goals to game ratio is about 1 in 5. Need better than that.
Restark19 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Ulloa wants regular football. **awaits lynch mob** 19 goals in 80 games
View From The Top Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Why? His goals to game ratio is about 1 in 5. Need better than that. In a very poor baggies side. He's a very good striker and I wouldn't be shocked to see him at Saints.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 19 goals in 80 games Too good a ratio for us?
Fabrice29 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 If we're taking anyone from WBA it should be Rondon. Haller is a real possibility. I think Jay Rodriguez's goal before the end of the window stalled us on that deal in the summer and I'd be surprised if we didn't go for him again. We have to be wary about what's available in January though. Being out of Europe doesn't help with the quality of striker we'll be after as anyone capable of playing at that level will be reluctant to sign for a team that they don't know if they're in it or not. So Haller would be a little more of a gamble but one we could probably pull off at a decent price in January and not get absouletly robbed for an already proven striker.
DuncanRG Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Sturridge must be on his way from Liverpool now that would be a great signing on loan or what ever It would have to be a loan, for me. No use losing Austin only to waste money on another injury liability.
Convict Colony Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Yes, that's quite common amongst crap players. hahaahahaahaaha
Saint_clark Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 19 goals in 80 games 1 in 4, better than I thought.
Badger Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 In the summer we were linked in a couple of articles with Gabbiadini at Napoli. Nothing came of it, and most likely it was either idle speculation or agent hyping interest. I think Everton were offering 20m, but he preferred to stay. Saw an article a week or so ago, the likely price has fallen to 14m, but largely because he's had a bit of a barren spell for Napoli. So there's a possibility that even if a player is affordable the likelihood is he's low on confidence, and out of form. (Perhaps similar to the Berahino issue).
Badger Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 1 in 4, better than I thought. Long's traditional ratio, although he has stretched it to a few more this year.
stknowle Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Someone with the ability to mask our deficiencies and disguise our shortcomings.
SaintSeb Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 As someone mentioned would love to see Rondon from the Baggies. No way they'd let him go for 'our kind' of fee though, let alone mid-season in January. but Berahino on a cheap deal due to his contract situation could be good for us. I know his attitude has been worrying, but hopefully he's learned his lesson not to be a diva because it has severely hampered his career as at one point he looked a very very promising player. In terms of continental options, Haller I know very little of, but I saw someone mention Plea as well as Ntep from the French league which in fluent Puel are both interesting players with good possibilities... The trouble with January is your either taking a risk on a player not getting a lot of game time (which there are usually negative reasons for), or paying an over-inflated fee if you want any sort of quality guarantee and even then there are a fair few galling flops (Torres and Carroll obviously springs to mind). Austin really was a brilliant signing when you put him into the context of other players signed in this window.
southamptonfc Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Leave Sam at Blackburn to develop. Mcqueen and Sims show that isn't always necessary.
alpine_saint Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Said it before, will say it again. I would like us to make a cheeky bid for Marko Arnautovic.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 Sandro Ramirez might be worth a look.
stknowle Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Said it before, will say it again. I would like us to make a cheeky bid for Marko Arnautovic. Define your idea of cheeky in this context please Alpine.
Pat from Poole Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Ulloa wants regular football. **awaits lynch mob** I think Ulloa CDAJFU actually.
Dalek2003 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 He's a winger isn't he? True. Not experienced enough as well.
Greenridge Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Sandro Ramirez might be worth a look. We were linked with him a couple of days back Striker Sandro Ramirez of Malaga http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/stoke-city-transfer-gossip-stoke-must-fight-spurs-and-southampton-for-sandro-ramirez/story-29961033-detail/story.html
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 We were linked with him a couple of days back So are Stokelona, I notice.
Monk Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Marcus Barnes Shocked he hasn't made the bench yet. Matteo Destro or Javier Hernandez would be my choices, reckon it'll be Haller or the young lad at AIK.
Greenridge Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 So are Stokelona, I notice. I guess the one thing that may now go in our favour is that whoever comes in is likely to be getting a fair amount of game time which might not be the case at other clubs.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 Shocked he hasn't made the bench yet. Hasn't Barnes only just come back from injury?
Monk Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Hasn't Barnes only just come back from injury?[/quote Yes he has.
Mr Saints Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Rondon would be perfect but as it won't happen Sturridge on loan could work.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 Rondon would be perfect but as it won't happen Sturridge on loan could work. No way Liverpool are letting Sturridge go.
saintwbu Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Icardi would be awesome but that wont happen we will get someone left-field or someone for the 'future' Like Austin was you mean? Berahino please, will make runs off the shoulder and needs a new lease of life
Give it to Ron Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Hasn't Barnes only just come back from injury?[/quote Yes he has. I was disappointed he got injured again as I think he had a bit about him. He has the physical stature to do ok. Rate Barnes highly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
qwertyell Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Berahino please, will make runs off the shoulder and needs a new lease of life He also needs a couple of months of physical conditioning after peeing away the last two years of his career dreaming about his future earnings, and eating. A pointless January signing as he won't be properly fit until the last handful of games of the season at best. Can't imagine the club would be so desperate as to take a punt on such an unprofessional waster.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 December, 2016 Author Posted 11 December, 2016 I was disappointed he got injured again as I think he had a bit about him. He has the physical stature to do ok. Rate Barnes highly. I think he started scoring almost immediately for the U23's so he's up & running again.
Appy Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Said it before, will say it again. I would like us to make a cheeky bid for Marko Arnautovic. Excellent player but not a striker.
SNSUN Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Haller is most likely I would think, and has continued his goal scoring from last season. Gets a few assists too. The cheapish but dangerous option would be Berahino. We know he can score goals when fit, but he's a seemingly troublesome person. A new Pahars would be nice.

You could arguably (and this is a good place to prove that) get both Haller & Berahino, as we probably needed a striker even if Charlie wasn't out.
tobes8 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 I doubt les reed will agree with any of us and Gallagher isn't the answer.
trousers Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 I think he started scoring almost immediately for the U23's so he's up & running again. Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if we see Barnes on the first team bench sometime this month. I think he may have been ahead of Olomola in pecking order before he got injured?
the saint in winchester Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Ulloa wants regular football. **awaits lynch mob** No lynch mob from me. He is someone I mentioned 18 months ago as someone we should go for.
the saint in winchester Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Defoe natural finisher exactly what we need yes he is getting on a bit.... But would be decent for us. Crouch and Defoe it is then. Sunderland had the players all along.
the saint in winchester Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Said it before, will say it again. I would like us to make a cheeky bid for Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian? Funny you recommending an Austrian.
nta786 Posted 11 December, 2016 Posted 11 December, 2016 Diego Costa or Robert Lewandowsk Suarez would be good too
OttawaSaint Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Jesus, this place is going to be unbearable in Jan. Imagine if we didn't get anyone in...
skintsaint Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Drogba is a free agent isn't he? Can't see us splashing cash this Jan, maybe sign a player whose contract is running out in the summer for cheap like Austin last year.
Convict Colony Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Random one as he's in Mexico and scoring but what about Andre Pierre Gignac Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
alpine_saint Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 The Austrian? Funny you recommending an Austrian. Why is it funny ? Hes a good player and makes things happen. Something we desperately need.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Les, Les !! just buy someone ffs BUT if he doesnt score 6 in his first 3 you are useless
Shroppie Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 I doubt we'll get anyone in. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Gabbiadini and Heller are utter jank, Zaza is better than both of them and look at how he's struggled. The problem is there is a real lack of decent striking options around. For me I'd like to look at Berardi, Modeste and Ibisevic . Oh and also bring in Plea from Nice.
kwsaint Posted 12 December, 2016 Posted 12 December, 2016 Think that we will get someone in January that none of us has thought of, and it will simply be announced. That's how it seems to work. Management must know that we have a problem and will be looking to do something about it. Doubt that it will be anyone 'proven'. That doesn't seem to be the way that things are done here.
