The 5 somalian pirates that "captured" the super tanker Sirius Star have drowned when their boat capsized when leaving the tanker with the cash, that was dropped by parachute to them,after the company paid for the return of the tanker and the hostages.

 

I'm not convinced they drowned,shot and blown out of the water more of a possibility methinks.

Wasn't it the US military that took the pictures of the money drop?

 

Must have been a British or Russian sub that got the 'kill shot' though as the Yanks probably would have missed.....

Slight failure in communications here.

 

Firstly there were dozens of raiders who held the ship.

The $3m ransom was split between them on board.

A number of small boats left carrying the raiders.

One boat, carrying 8, capsized leaving three to swim for several hours to the shore.
