Tbf he's been fit all season I think so doesn't look like he was in Puels plans anyway. Which is a shame, I thought he looked decent and could have potentially been a ready made replacement for Fonte or Van Dijk.

It's probably been mentioned before but this is a key point both for RK and for CP. Contrary to what RK claimed, he did not really give youth a chance. Cameo sub appearances and league cup (which he never took seriously) aside only Targett was given a chance of more than one game. Reed and JWP had debuted long before RK arrived. But CP needs to make sure that the likes of Hesketh, Reed, McQueen, GK McCarthy and Sims - even Stephens and Olamola - get regular game time which is perfectly possible with the rotation we have adopted.

Even Targett only got a look in at the start of the season because Bertrand was injured, Cuco was gash at left back in pre-season, and we hadn't signed Van Dijk at that point so Yoshida was played at CB and not free to play LB.
