whelk Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Ok if you could pick 2 games out of our next 4 (Everton, arsenal, palace, beersheeba) that we were guaranteed to win which games would you pick? Obviously doesn't mean we wouldn't win the other 2. Expect 'win all 4 please' comments.
Pamplemousse Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Guaranteed = Everton and Arsenal That would then give us the momentum to go on a winning streak
vectraman Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Arsenal and Beersheba. Keeps the interest levels in the cups very much alive
nta786 Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Arsenal and Everton, take a 0-0 vs Beer Sheba too And unfortunately lose to Palace if this had to be the case. OBVIOUSLY, would love 4 solid straight wins in a row
Lighthouse Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Arsenal and HBS. Lose the other 2 and we will still be mid table.
Mr X Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 The real question should be how many of the next four games do you think we will actually win, whats the point in hypothetical if you could pick a game to win type questions?
Baird of the land Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Everton(really don't want Koeman and Everton to get one over us or finish above us) Torn between either of Cup games. Normally it would be the european one nailed on but we could go through with a 0-0 so maybe i'd be greedy and go for the arsenal game and hope for a 0-0 like Liverpool.
Dusic Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Arsenal and Everton. 1. Need to pick up points in thhe league 2. League cup best chance of a trophy. 3. If we can't beat Beer Sheva we don't deserve to get out of the group. 4. Arsenal and Everton are the toughest games.
Dalek2003 Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 We must win league games. Couldn't care less about European and Cup games. Also the business will be most concerned about league games as this is where the money is.
verlaine1979 Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 At the moment it feels more pertinent to wonder which of the four we'll score in.
5string Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Win against Everton & Palace, getting our goalscoring boots back on. This would allow a 0-0 against Beersheba. No disgrace to lose to Arsenal, maybe 2-1 after an injury time penalty...? This keeps us ok in PL and retains our interest in the cups. Also shoves it up RonKo haha

the saint in winchester Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 Win vs Everton and Beersheba. Arsenal are in a league above. Palace a league below, if we cant beat them we are in trouble. We are on a par with Everton and we need to qualify for european knockouts. Everton and Beersheba.
whelk Posted 26 November, 2016 Author Posted 26 November, 2016 The real question should be how many of the next four games do you think we will actually win, whats the point in hypothetical if you could pick a game to win type questions? To be honest don't think there's a lot of point to your, or any of our predictions. Feel free though. Barry says 2-0, 1-2 for me says Dave. Donald thinks it will be a tight 0-0.
nta786 Posted 26 November, 2016 Posted 26 November, 2016 if we want europa league football next season it aint gonna happen through virtue of our league position. only way i see it happening is winning the league cup, so beating arsenal. then again, id have probably said the same thing last season, until our second half of the season where we had second most points between Jan and May 2016, which could still happen yet

5string Posted 27 November, 2016 Posted 27 November, 2016 Not sure losing to Arsenal keeps up our interest in the cups. Haha, whoops - thinking one thing, typing another. Didn't check. In short, I'm keen for us to be in as many competitions as possible, for as long as possible. So, any results that make that happen.
nta786 Posted 27 November, 2016 Posted 27 November, 2016 What is the point in gunning for europe We treat the competition appallingly anyway So we should gun for midtable then? Despite our crap Away performances, I'd still rather be in it than not be in it- I've loved the fact we're playing twice a week almost most weeks Milan was still a great 2/3 days for a lot of us despite the result, and others enjoyed Israel and Prague I'm sure despite shocking performances

Personally, I'd settle for mid table/lower half Prem finish, if it mean't a cup final appearance this season. So Arsenal and Beersheeba wins please.
mrfahaji Posted 27 November, 2016 Posted 27 November, 2016 Everton & Be'er Sheva. Former for the enjoyment of putting one over my now most hated team in the division, the latter because it would be nice to qualify in the Europa. For the purpose of this exercise I think it makes sense to assume we'd lose the other two. Obviously that wouldn't be great but I'd take progression in Europa over progression in League Cup, and an Everton win over a Palace win.
Dark Munster Posted 3 December, 2016 Posted 3 December, 2016 All four please. Yes, still possible. But I'll settle for 0-0 against Beer.
