any movement on this story?

Come on DT the guy had how many posts to his name yet you still fall for all this crap?

In that environment, and with the financial world bracing itself for the inevitable next hideous shock, Harris said those who might have taken a punt on English football's glittering global "brands" have become suddenly more cautious. "You can't force a club down somebody's throat," he said. "They have to really want to buy it. They may expect to make money out of a club ultimately but a football club is a trophy asset, for enjoyment. Confidence is dented everywhere and I do not see much activity on takeovers until we get some form of stability in people's minds."

Can tell you that Peter Storey came into Southampton on a private plane 2 days ago in the company of ex Spurs and Watford player Ramon Vega. Nothing todo with Saints i'm sure as Vega is into hotels nowadays and a football academy.

As silly season has started again just thought i'd add my tuppence worth;)

Ramon Vega Retired. Now working in a City Asset management company;part owner of a Romford jewellers shop; runs foreign holiday football coaching courses.

Peter Edwin Storey (born September 7, 1945 in Farnham, Surrey) is an English former football player.

Following his retirement from the game, Storey set up a market stall and later ran a pub. However, he also became known for various run-ins with the law. In 1979 he was fined for running a brothel, and later served time in prison for a variety of crimes; these include being involved in a coincounterfeiting ring, car theft, and illegally importing pornographic videos.[2][3]

Anyone remember I was sporting an Indian avatar during the summer?

It was just after the Everton land deal for the new ground started to stall and an Indian company came sniffing around the club accounts.

If you don't belive me just keep an eye out for an Indian at the game today;)

Nope. Didn't see anyone....

no it is not. As concerns our football club we could very easily be incorporated as an 'Industrial and Provident Society', run by the members and for the members.

As concerns our country's industrial base, a very simple import levy would suffice. It would involve giving the EU the middle finger and building up Her Majesty's Navy to its former glory in order to protect us when the Indians and Chinese get ****ed off with us for not sending our hard currency to them in return for crap goods we could have made ourselves. But we could do it. And we should do it.

On the former, you won't ever hear Lowe et al voice in concert the community aspects of our FC and on the latter, Brown only cares about his 'legacy' and sold out the idea of true socialism a long time ago, Cameron is a toff who has too much money already and only wants to 'get in to power' and the BNP are a bunch of racist ****s. But mark my words, our country's economy can only be revived when we stop importing crap from overseas and start feeding ourselves. Proper, true Nationalism (nothing, to do with National Socialism. White, black, christian, muslem or jew, gay or straight we all live on this island and we all have a lot to gain from closing our borders to foreign imports unless we desperately need them).

We are a proud country and we are selling our soul to people over-seas just because some t0sser of an 'economist' says there are marginal gains to be made. ******. If I lose my job to an Indian computer programmer exactly what should I retrain as?? I am already highly qualified. Economists are a bunch of useless t0ssers who don't live in the real world. Same as bankers and politicians.

SFC needs middle-eastern 'investors' like a hole in the head.

Our country needs 'globalisation' like a hole in the head.

Well said, been saying the same for years.

Whilst I don't like the situation our team is in, I don't see a quick fix cash injection as the answer either. We need a firm base for stability for the future of our club for generations upon generations to come, not someone who is going to pull out after five to ten years at most, leaving the club in a worse position than it is in now, through a much bigger debt.

The million dollar question is of course, how exactly do we and those in power at the club achieve this.

Also agree on the future of our beautiful country and it's great people, once we lose the skills and abilities to be self sufficent, we lose all that is good about us and has made us what we are.

Now guys - you are just not taking this thread seriously are you? It will be Friday I tell you

;-)

Yea right we all believe you of course (Te he )

No, he's quite right. On Friday it will indeed be Friday. Nothing will happen, of course, but it will most definitely be Friday. This particular Friday will be my twin sister's birthday, but that's far too certain to post on a takeover thread!
