What sort of reception will Koeman get?

I took a lower paid less stressful job for a better quality of life so er no we wouldn't ALL do the same thing....

In Koemans situation you wouldn't have moved?

More money

More ambition from club and owners

Bigger club

Longer contract

Forget your Saints loyalties for one minute and be honest

I'm just not motivated by money. I like a stress free life ( so clearly wouldn't go into football management in the first place). If I was a football manager though I'd go for a job with low expectations were even a small improvement would be considered a success......so yeah I'd probably go to Everton to.?

I'm not to bothered about him if I'm honest really. He gave us to decent seasons but I was annoyed he kept string the whole staying going thing along it all came across as very underhanded.

But basically he left because he didn't think he could take us any further. In hindsight after my initial disappointment I think he was right. I think Koeman was surprised as anybody that our second season ended so well and I'm not sure how much our strong finish was down to his management skills anyway. If he'd stayed I reckon we would be doing far worse this season.

The guy gave us two great seasons, which is more than most previous managers can say. Then he left the way you'd expect, which was still annoying but no big surprise. To some of us a club is our life, to most of the men on the field it's a job. I'm pretty indifferent about his return. Let's just beat them and make him feel like he may have made a mistake.

I was offered a huge pay rise to work on one of those really posh French sparkling wine brands but I turned it down because I was enjoying my role at R Whites so much.

If I was Koeman and I had no connections to Saints yes I would move, BUT I would never ever do it the way he did.

To claim to the media 'Yes, I will remain Southampton manager' etc etc was what ruined his tenure for me.

He didn't leave because we don't have ambition, don't give me that bol*ocks, we have plenty of it, just the Southampton Way is different to other ways.

I'm money motivated, I will admit it, and taking out emotional attachments yes I would move to other places if I wasn't worse off in some other way eg far from family, too long working hours/too long commuting hours- it would be a calculated decision ofc

Koeman, by moving, has made a sideways career move but whilst them deluded Everton fans have top 4 ambitions, in reality, it is far easier to improve Everton's position last season than to maintain a top 6 level for us- and I don't think spending would be the answer to that maintenance- might have helped though!

i always think this was a side step for Koeman, he was never going to be a Southampton man, same as Poch we were just a stepping stone. this will always be the case.

Unless we build a 50000 capacity stadium and fill it, we will never ever compete, fact.

Ultimately I like to watch and support my side, not worry too much about the other side and even less about their manager. I'm sure everyone got in the pantomime swing of things over Lovren yesterday, it's that time of year and yes my father with his dementia got into the swing of things, but that is negative. Be positive, support the Saints.

If it wasn't for him we wouldn't be even the Europa League at all. Even if he did bugger off, at least he got us somewhere decent first.

A bit like some parents taking their kids to Peppa Pig World, leaving them on the Windy Castle ride then naffing.off to the pub.

I loved the class he exuded when dealing with the media, I loved listening to his honest assessment and no nonsense approach to players and situations.

I loved how he viewed other clubs and the managerial merry-go-rounds and the greed and the lack of loyalty with modern day players.

I loved having him as our manager and we had a genuine class act managing our club.

I loved him right up to the point he took the cash.

I wish we spent our collective energies supporting and getting right behind our team,

The Lovren stuff yesterday was cringeworthy and quite rightly ran out of steam once Liverpool fans hit back with 'Dejan Lovren he's top of the league'.

Forget the opposition, get behind the Saints for 90 minutes.

For me it was all down to the awkward last year of the contract thing. I think he would have stayed but I don't think we wanted him to if he wasn't going to sign a new contract. He didn't sign a new contract because he had his ambitions and we had ours, and they were different especially regarding youth and money for transfers, and yes he got a stonking offer from Everton. Sad but that's football. Boo him if you want and it makes you feel better but it won't make any difference.

We've all moved on.

It will be pure pantomime villain stuff really, not even Redkrappp's first return with QPR was that bad despite the gearing up for it on here. After a first five minutes of booing it settled down again.

Sad to say, but gone are the days of a 90 minute hate-fest, the sort of thing reserved for John Bailly on his first few returns with Blackburn, and then the dug-out pioneers. Scouse c^nt.
