thorpie the sinner Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 Never a bad time to show this, a golden walk down memory lane and my favourite England Scotland moment! No need to watch tonight, it can't get any better, I am off down the pub!
doddisalegend Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 That's the last time I actually got excited by anything to do with England ...
IN MY DAY Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 When Roy of the Rovers stepped out of the comic book into reality. A very happy memory.

SaintAndy14 Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 That's the last time I actually got excited by anything to do with England ... Same!
Charlie Wayman Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 Is he playing tonight then, haven't seen the teams?
the colonel Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 If all England players played with as much heart as SRL then we may actual have half a chance of winning something.
Jonnyboy Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 That's the last time I actually got excited by anything to do with England ... Me too. I remember I was in the Alex in town. Fantastic moment.
Batman Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 Hoddle is licking his lips ready to announce rose as the MoM
Winnersaint Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 Lallana MoM. That'll go down well then.
Shance Posted 11 November, 2016 Posted 11 November, 2016 That's the last time in a long time I was excited for an England game.
Kingsland Codger Posted 12 November, 2016 Posted 12 November, 2016 Another favourite SRL-playing-for-England moment was his inch-perfect chipped pass for Welbeck to score the third goal against Moldova. Tiger Woods would have been thrilled to play such an approach shot.
ericofarabia Posted 12 November, 2016 Posted 12 November, 2016 When Roy of the Rovers stepped out of the comic book into reality. A very happy memory. Mid week, 4 hour time difference, we did well to have about 6 of us DubaiSaints in our bar. All the other goals were quietly cheered, but the sheer roar of glee that went up from us and madcap dancing in celebration took the whole place (and ourselves). Completely spontaneous and heartfelt!! I've never ever celebrated a goal not involving Southampton with such joy!!
Dusic Posted 12 November, 2016 Posted 12 November, 2016 Most I've ever celebrated an Intl goal. Amazing moment against the grain of Intl football which is utter dross.
jasonb Posted 12 November, 2016 Posted 12 November, 2016 Wonderful. The talisman we so desperately needed and a natural successor to Le God. I enjoyed the goal as much as all of you but his post match interview makes me well up a little when he runs through the dedications at the end. I swear when he says "and Southampton Football Club" at the end it gets me every time. #PRIDE

Like everyone else, I've never celebrated an England goal so much and I probably never will.
