AK Posted 9 November, 2016 Share Posted 9 November, 2016 Quite interesting his comments on Lukaku - almost saying he's too good for Everton, I'm sure that will go down well, with their reasonable and well balanced supporters. He told Belgian newspaper HLN: "I gave him confidence and he has himself recognised that it was good for his development to play another year at Everton. "What after this season comes, no-one knows. "If Romelu was to play at Everton until the end of his career I know he has left something [behind]. His potential is greater and higher than Everton as a final destination." SKD Posted 9 November, 2016 Share Posted 9 November, 2016 He obviously doesn't realise that Everton were the first team to have dugouts.

Norm Posted 9 November, 2016 Share Posted 9 November, 2016 Hmm, the same Roy Keane that ****ed off home from Ireland's World Cup camp? I wouldn't ask him the way to a bus stop, the *****!
angelman Posted 9 November, 2016 Share Posted 9 November, 2016 He obviously doesn't realise that Everton were the first team to have dugouts. Yeah, but we had the first FA Cup match game under floodlights and that didn't keep him here. And more recently we were the first ground in Europe to be all LEDs. alehouseboys Posted 9 November, 2016 Share Posted 9 November, 2016 Yep, his "happy at saints" line`s were the epitome of honesty... From what I believe he was happy here, and happy to see out the last year of his contract, much like he did at Feyenoord. 50,000 turned out to welcome him back the following season in the pre-seaon friendly, here he'll get abuse from the brain-dead. He didn't want a contract extension offered by the club that forced the situation of his switch to Merseyside, Shame the way it ended but he won't get any stick from me, that goes for ex-players too. It was obvious all along that we would never let him just see out that last year. Was never going to happen and it didn't.

You're right he was never gonna see out that last year, it certainly doesn't work like that. I've no idea how Koeman thought the situation could have been resolved without the contract extension, but I'm happy to accept what I heard that he was 'happy' here. Still, the club shifted someone who wasn't towing the company line and got combo and we got Puel, who I quite like.
Mowgli Posted 10 November, 2016 Share Posted 10 November, 2016 Perhaps we should prove Ronald right by buying Lukaku in January...
The Cat Posted 10 November, 2016 Share Posted 10 November, 2016 He was happy here until he found out how much money Everton were offering so he sacked his agent and manoeuvred himself into pole position for a job which he publicly denied being interested in. The massive bell end.
scotty Posted 11 November, 2016 Share Posted 11 November, 2016 Hmm, the same Roy Keane that ****ed off home from Ireland's World Cup camp? I wouldn't ask him the way to a bus stop, the *****! Yes, that's the one. Same c*nt who deliberately wrecked Haalands leg and finished his career. And the same c*nt who held ma n u to ransom on his ludicrous pay demands, thereby starting the whole massively overblown pay structure we're now seeing in football. I wish him a slow and painful death.

I wish him a slow and painful death. What a load of sh!t. The knee that ended Haaland's career wasn't the one Keane hit (and it's hard not to argue that Haaland had it coming after gloating at Keane when he did his ACL). And Keane didn't start any massively overblown pay structure nor were his demands ludicrous, we ourselves have players earning more what he demanded. Man Utd make massive profits, only fair that the players get their fair share, rather them than the inbred orcs that own them.
austsaint Posted 11 November, 2016 Share Posted 11 November, 2016 Honest comments just not typical of the modern managers who talk in riddles I liked his honesty when he was here tbh He wasn't always honest and upfront (while at SFC) though, was he. I do remember him saying something similar about Mane, 12 months ago, along the lines of enjoy the skills of Mane while he is still here.
