This did the rounds over a month ago and was based on the 2 or 3 matches which had been played at the time.

As a result there were plenty of quick players who hadn't had the opportunity to sprint over any kind of distance to get up to full speed, and the list is basically a compilation of "the fastest people who've had to go flat out to chase a long ball in the Premier League in the first 2 weeks of the season", as opposed to an actual list of the quickest players.

Need to see a 100m race between all the quick lads, and if Usain is free, give him a lane too.

I'd pay to watch that to be fair.

Had it on good authority that this is top speed stats and that over 5m and 20m Charlie Austin is fastest at Saints currently. Hard to believe I know.

I doubt Austin is even quicker than Sammy Saint over 5m let alone other members of the 1st team.

Q: What's the fastest thing on two legs?

A: Shaun Kenny with a dinner ticket!

Classic old school joke

Absolute classic

(No idea what it means or who the **** is Shaun Kenny)

Very easy to believe tbh, getting rapidly up to full speed and having a high top speed are two different things.

I love stats like this because I can't imagine Yoshi being quicker than Walcott or Austin being the quickest over a short distance!

Redmond must be up there too.

RIGHT.

....those old enough to recall can remember 1960's left winger John Sydenham delighted in giving a full back a 2 yard start ..and then burned him out over the next 20.:D
