WE WANT BOUFAL !!

Hello everybody!

I look forward to seeing play Sofiane. He is part of this race of players we enjoy seeing play whatever their club. He is just an exceptional player.

I have no doubt that he will do even better than other old good players LOSC in PL (Hazard, Payet, Gueye).

(Sorry for the quality of my writing)

Bye!

Thanks Hirosk.

We too are looking forward to seeing him play for us, just hope he lives up the standard you've described, and our expectations of him.

Of course it will happen. Not always as we will rotate a lot, but a front 3 of Tadic, Redmond and Boufal will played at times. Wouldn't surprise me if it becomes Puel's preferred front 3.

Boufal isn't a striker, he's a creator in midfield. How many goals has he scored the past two years? I think I read 4 somewhere. He's a #10

Boufal 2015/16

- 29 league games

- 11 league goals

Puel's front 3 are given a lot of freedom to rotate. His preferred front three at the moment appears to be Austin, Redmond & Tadic. But they swap positions with each other throughout games, Boufal will likely be used in a similar fashion. The movement & rotation of positions leaves opposing defences clueless as for who to mark, this was particularly apparent vs West Ham.

Little update here some might appreciate. The players have been taken aback by Boufal in training. Basically they cant get anywhere near him.

We are in for a treat.

Undoubtedly going to be better than Mane and a future Ballon D'or winner.

He's in good company then. I recall the same being said about Ramirez and Osvaldo.... ;)

To be fair, our best players have been on international duty or are injured....

I would love to see Redmond, Tadic and Boufal (when all fit) playing as Attacking mids/wingers behind Austin. With Romeu and PEJ as the holding midfielders. Then jayrod and Long to come on for attacking pace/power and directness in the second half.

Sadly that just isn't how we play.

One for the ITK's...

How do we intend to fit both Tadic and Boufal into the team? I'd love to see them both, but can't see that happening.

For me (assuming formation is not going to change) i'd go something like this...

---------Romeu---------

Davis ------------ hojbjerg

---------Tadic-----------

---Austin------Boufal---

But i'm half expecting Tadic / Boufal to be rotated.

Puel admits the Moroccan international could feature in his squad for the weekend fixture against the Clarets.

He said: “I think it is early to see Sofiane but he has made progress and has improved.

“We will see when he can participate with the squad and perhaps he could start on the bench to feel the team, the game and to take bits from it.

“It’s important that step by step we will give him some game time and we make progress with everything.”

Well I sure hope he is as good as he is being built up to be. I don't see anyway Puel takes his favorte "Lil Henry" off the field, so Boufal will come on at someone else's expense, maybe Hojbjerg, Tadic, or Austin. However I wouldn't want to see him on for Austin. Boufal strikes me (and granted I am not that knowledgeable about his play) as another Redmond/Tadic style player, not a box-type striker. I like to see one guy out there who can hold up the ball, win in the air, and create chances around the goal.

Nope, he did an interview in English on the day he signed for Saints...

Interesting that (about 2 minutes in) ..he says that Saints were in for him...4 or 5 months before he signed (i.e. February / March).

means he wasn't Claude Puel's choice when he signed in the summer, but whether Koeman approved in advance it's difficult to say.

And Redmond was signed when we didn't have a head coach. So? Puel's job is to improve players, make the team perform as a cohesive unit and to report it all to Les so the recruitment team can identify the players we need to improve. He has no say in who we sign apart from the odd cheap short term stop gap, just as it should be.
