The Chapel Kop pal, without a doubt. Although some people prefer to sit elsewhere and watch in awe at the noise and passion that cascades down from the terraces.

You probably need to get British 'humour' as to work out where not to sit.

Enjoy your visit...you haven't exactly picked the most glamorous fixture for your first match (and don't set your expectations too high over the atmosphere!) and I'd suggest Kingsland Blocks 35-36 for a reasonable experience.

If you want to experience a proper English atmosphere I'd sugvest give this one a swerve and going to wherever Pompey are playing that day instead.

Yeah i know it's not the top draw fixture but there will be tickets available. just glad I'm not in the UK the previous weekend as there are no fixture, stupid National team games ruin the flow of the season

I personally recommend block 4 or 5. Great view and you're close enough to the noisier contingent of Saints fans in the Itchen North (the main support comes from the Northam stand with a little bit from the Itchen North corner (i.e. the sections either side of the away fans), but I'm not a fan of being behind the goal)

So for me, I'd move slightly more centrally to block 4 or 5 with a good view of the pitch side-on, as well as a good view of the away fans and the banter between them & our noisier contingents.

So would you go close to the pitch or up higher for a better overall view?

If you want to stand, then blocks 42-44 from row AA and back will mean you don't get hassled by stewards. 42 is block closest to away fans (or block 2 in the Itchen). If you want to sit all game then anywhere else will be fine. Itchen Centre has the most expensive tickets but you can potentially get seats close to the team benches (depends on how many you need together).

I'll be in the UK the weekend of the Burnley game and want to know the best area in the stadium to sit with the best atmosphere before I get my tickets. Thanks.

Probably need to book up fairly swiftly to get desired seats.
