broken spoke Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 very pleased by the way we ended that first half.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 It seems some love it more on here when we miss than when we score
SNSUN Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh looks very good. Great through ball. Shame Long couldn't get more power on it.
Convict Colony Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Yeah Martina looks very very good again. Agree he is playing very well and seems to actually get more crosses into the box more than cedric "i'll hit the first man" soares
Batman Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh, Long, Austin and Martina looking good clasie, well....is he ever going to arrive? pretty bland form him
NY Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Blimey, that's quite a casual penalty from Austin, shaping to hit it into the keeper's left, and rolling it along the ground at the speed of a passback into the keeper's right hand corner. Cheeky Charlie.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 It seems some love it more on here when we miss than when we score Do you really believe that!
jasonb Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh looking very good. Lovely weight on the through passes he had played.
SO16_Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh being compared to Iniesta before the game on Solent. Big shoes to fill, not sure he will be that good, who knows, but he certainly has an eye for a pass.
eelpie Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Scott Dann injured and subbed off. This is exactly what Palarse fans have been worried about
JakkoUK Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 If Hesketh keeps up what he has shown here then Tadic and Boufal better start worrying... what an unbelievable half from the lad. The through balls he has put through have been pin point and he should be on three assists if Long, Austin and Martina's finishing were that slight bit better.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Do you really believe that! From some of the posts some do, yes
NY Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 clasie, well....is he ever going to arrive? pretty bland form him Was thinking the same just now. Had high expectations but he's not really grown, asserted himself on games or done anything but make Steve Davis look more accomplished and hard working. Like the look of Hjoberg though.
igsey Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 If anybody ever asks me to sum up Shane Long in 10 seconds, I'll show them that. Hesketh looking excellent so far.
Bewildered Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Bit worrying that we are being so wasteful when Palace the likes of Benteke to come on. Hesketh playing very well, as are Austin, Martina and Long (finishing notwithstanding)
SO16_Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 get Redmond on, he can finish He's no Thierry Henry though
NY Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 get Redmond on, he can finish ...my sentence at least."
nta786 Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 It seems some love it more on here when we miss than when we score How did you come to that conclusion?
SO16_Saint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 get Redmond on, he can finish Said nobody ever
Pamplemousse Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Playing well but we really need to learn how to finish properly.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 If we put Hjoberg and Redmond on 2nd half we could have 6 under 21 players on the pitch!
St Chalet Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 We are playing well tonight and should be out of sight. The midfield of JWP, Classie and Reed looking functional. Reed doesn't look out of place in that company. Hesketh on the evidence of that 45 minutes could be our answer at #10. Not sure about Iniesta, but the way the ball sticks to his feet is reminiscent of Lallana. If Long could finish he wouldn't be playing for us, to be fair he creates chances others couldn't to waste. Austin could have bagged the match ball by now.
Convict Colony Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh, Long, Austin and Martina looking good clasie, well....is he ever going to arrive? pretty bland form him Pot meet kettle
sandwichsaint Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 West Ham struggling again, 5L say they look shot on confidence and ideas and struggling in the new stadium .... you just know hat's going to happen at the weekend ...... West Ham 0 Saints 2.... go us.
del boy Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 If Claude had known Hesketh was that good he could have saved the Boufal money and bought a striker
Jonnyboy Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Who's this Hesketh geezer? Sign him up for the Prem matches!
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh made the first team a couple of seasons ago he looked good but got bullied and picked up an injury early on Let's hope he has been building strength over the last two years
trousers Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Looking at the replays, I can see why Long scuffed the sitter just before half time. As he goes around the keeper the ball slows up and by the time he shoots the ball is slightly under his feet rather than in front of him, so he's unable to get any power behind it. If he'd pushed the ball around the keeper slightly harder, or wasn't running quite so fast, the timing would have been more perfect for the shot. Fine margins.
eelpie Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 He's no Thierry Henry though Who is Thierry Henry?
Shroppie Posted 21 September, 2016 Author Posted 21 September, 2016 In other news, Northampton 1 1 Man U. Here's hoping Mourinho can do to Man U what he did to Chelsea last season. ? Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
DuncanRG Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh's earning himself a place in the West Ham squad here. Hope he gets a chance in the league before Boufal comes in
broken spoke Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 is it me, or do we play better when attacking the Northem end? As Chapel to seems out weaker?
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Hesketh looking like a £25m player Shhhhhhh Liverpool will offer 35m don't tell them!
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Austin still not looking fully fit always puffing after 45 mins
del boy Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 Austin still not looking fully fit always puffing after 45 mins he was struggling after the penalty run up
Saint Without a Halo Posted 21 September, 2016 Posted 21 September, 2016 he was struggling after the penalty run up Ahh that's why he rolled it in softly
