The9 Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 Well done to whoever at the club got this sorted: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-37316792 Whilst that's a decent response in that particular case, I'll reserve praising the club for their disabled-friendly activities when they enable disabled fans to buy tickets online like everyone else AND ambulant fans don't get given garbage seats for every single match at away grounds due to mobility issues, especially when the seats they get are in less convenient places than swathes of other ones. I appreciate that the away ticket allocations aren't exactly in their control, but they are responsible for allocating them where possible (ie not at West Ham) and a bit of ownership of an issue that must happen in every single match wouldn't go amiss. angelman Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 (edited) Problem I've found with these changing rooms, is that they are used by able bodied people who can't be bothered to wait. Therefore they are often locked and you have to go and get a key from someone. Is that person always there to hand over a key? Maybe a key pad is the answer. And yes, well done Everton. What ****ed me off about Frannie's big run is that it raised £185k. He went to all 20 PL grounds and surely each club and some of the players could have chipped in to contribute to rech the £1m target. It's not as if the players aren't paid a king's ransom. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BenalisBigRun Edited 13 September, 2016 by angelman
Patrick Bateman Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 Well done to whoever at the club got this sorted: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-37316792 This is great - I know that campaign is fairly recent and I'm delighted the club have listened and taken action. However, a side note worth pointing out is that sometimes people who are autistic or have sensory processing issues, for example, would also benefit from use of these facilities, even though they may appear perfectly "normal on the outside". Football ground toilets in particular are fundamentally challenging for sufferers due to the noise, cramped conditions, lighting etc, and can quite easily trigger a meltdown (particularly in children). Generally though, I agree that you can probably tell who is taking the p***, but it isn't always as clear cut as some might think.
pluto Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 The fact is this child didnt have to 'ever' lay on any toilet floor, the first aid rooms in three stands have always been on offer to use.
simo Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 Shoot me down but the club can sort this out for a minority (as Pluto says the floor was never a resort) but still can't sort the Pa system out for the masses, and also on the Everton point why the he'll didn't the Sunderland players whom he was mascot for put their hands in their pockets !? How do you know they didn't? And fix that bloody PA! If they can't fix it can they at least not put a slide on the big screen for the oppo's substitutions ..... and probably for quite a few that sit around me for our own subs too. angelman Posted 13 September, 2016 Share Posted 13 September, 2016 My neighbour wrote to the club and got a reply about the PA system (Kingsland, or is it shît everywhere?) that they were going to work on it but couldn't before the Sunderland game. Hope now that the Int break has been and gone that they have got off their backsides.
