Forster, Cedric, Van Dijk, Fonte, Bertrand, Davis, Romeu, Clasie, Tadic, Redmond, Long

Very odd selection given how well we played on Thursday. Our two best performers from that game on the bench.

The fact that Puel sees Redmond as a guaranteed starter up front seriously hampers us IMO.

it is plain weird.

hope he scores today of course but it is just weird.

We trashed Puel on here for the changes Thurs, and now trashing him for changing them back? Can't we accept we have a strong squad? Goals will come aplenty at some point from Long and Redmond. He's been clear in his strategy and to me it makes a lot of sense. The guys who gave it their all on Thurs may not quite be at the same level today. Having the pace of Long and Redmond together may be exactly what Swansea don't want.........

Personally, love seeing Reed and Isgrove on the bench. Think they both have huge potential...

Good selection from Puel. With so many games, it is vital to use the whole squad. Swansea are fresher than us so it was unavoidable to make a number of changes.

Leicester didnt make so many and they won both this week. very comfortably.

2-1 to saints today with redmond MoM now :o

It's been ages since I've been at home when Saints are playing... Are the days of getting a stream on the iPad over or can anyone provide a link or instructions on how to get one?

I love football forums. I came on here Thursday & everyone was whinging about the changes.....and now...you couldn't make it up!

well, proof is in the result, we have to win today really

About time jwp was dropped. Over 100 pl games and still no return. Time to give others a chance.

Interesting, I actually thought JWP was much more visible on Thursday and had way more physical presence. I was quite encouraged but perhaps that was only my opinion and perhaps the manager agrees with you?

Redmond up front I expected to see but is a concern. Shame J Rod got a knock after a couple of good cameos. Will be a tight game, hope Sigurdsson is closely marked. Fonte v Llorente will be an interesting battle.

Would like to have seen Martina and Hojbjerg start. However you don't know how the feel after Thursday. Austin did a great job against Prague, but the fact he was knackerd after 40 min is worrying.

Can anyone who attended Thursday say if there are improvements in play and if the formation is working better?

Two homes games shouldn't be too much for a fit footballer FFS. If it had been away to some way back beyond place in Eastern Europe and then Mboro away I could understand it,

but come on 2 home games is no different to any other midweek Wed / Sat League match routine and you wouldn't expect wholesale changes for that.

Comparing player line ups and I'd say position for position it's 6-5 to Saints. At a push you could argue 7-4 to Saints. But Swansea are one of those teams we should be beating, but they have danger players. I still think we're better, have a stronger defence and more pace. Should win this. Need to win this. Then beat West Ham.

Going for a 2-0 today to Saints. Long to find his scoring touch.

why?

when has this now been the done thing?

we're on a run of seven games in 21 days. two of which are arguably among the most important of the past decade. can you concede that the management know a bit more about the fitness of the players than you do?

I'd much rather see Puel be proactive about these things and rotate players than to run a guy into the ground and see him turn in a lethargic 60 and/or cost the team a goal over the course of the next two weeks.
