Before Koeman took off for sunnier climes I heard there was talk of Chambers coming on loan.

With Pied now sidelined and Martina standing by to join Ronald in God's city surely it would not be a bad time to resurrect this deal?

Good cover in the middle too.

Mentioned this on another thread this morning. I agree.

(I was a little hopeful this thread was confirming it!)

We already help the top 6 sides in the league by selling them our best players - not sure we also want to start developing their fringe and young players too.

Would prefer us to develop and give our own youth a chance.

Been a while since we seen some talent promoted from the youth teams!!

Unsure - having a scan today, I believe.

Fortunate in some ways that the window is still open (and that Martina is still in the building) depending on how things pan out. Lets hope Pied is OK & it's not serious.

Jesus, I agree with you (for the most part) :scared:

He won't come here

Why not? What's he ever said or done to make you think that? He left us on relatively good terms didn't he? Better terms than Lallana and Lovren anyway.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat, especially right now with the reasons stated in the OP. Plus the squad depth that we need right now considering he can cover RB, CB and RM. I always thought he was slightly better defensively than Clyne.

I thought that was what Callum himself said last time it was rumoured. He would rather stay at Arsenal and fight for his place.

Why would he come on loan if he's no more likely to play than he is at Arsenal? If he goes on loan it'll be for game time and experience, not to warm somebody else's bench waiting for his chance.

I think it makes perfect sense...if he's seen as a right back. Problem is if he's seen as a CB by Arsenal and himself and they presumably want him to play regular football then this isn't right club for him as he's only getting in if Fonte or VVD are injured/rested. If he wants to come as a right back then he would be straight into our team.

Would be fantastic to have him back. A player with a point to prove who knows the set up. Level headed as well so I am told. We could hardly begrudge him a move to Arsenal could we.

So level headed that he jumps at the chance to turn his back on the club that gave him an opportunity, even though we had a much better right back in Clyne.

If he was that level headed wouldn't he want to at least establish himself first as first choice right back?

It's the equivalent of target my going to Chelsea and then wondering why he's on the bench :)

That has to be a record, even for us.

Poor bastard looked to have some talent as well but now will probably end up leaving in a couple of years being remembered unfairly as a flop.

Had the makings of a really decent player . Really should have stayed and developed by playing games for us . When are these nippers gonna learn that there's no substitute for playing premier league games and that a big move will come anyway , they don't need to jump at the first oppurtunity . Personally I did think he'd make a really good centre midfielder or centre half rather than a full back . If him coming back is with a view to a permanent switch , yes everyday of the week . But if it's to help him be better for arsenal , them **** him

Don't want him back. If a player wants to bugger off and chase the bright lights and big money at another club, so be it but don't come back here crying when it doesn't work out.

A player his age needs regular game time to be decent but he decided to jack that in and go and sit on Arsenal's bench. If anything he has gone backwards, we can do better.

Expect Tinman, and Charlie George beat him tbh. At least Pied made it into the pitch for us before his injury.
