trousers Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 A hunch [emoji23] So the only thing you "heard" was a voice in your head...?
Gingar Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Flying over tomorrow for a medical according to papers in France. If only we had someone who could check...
Manuel Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 He looks pretty good but couldn't we have found someone a bit cheaper?
SO16_Saint Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Signing the contract on a pasting table in the centre of the pitch before the Sunderland game?
Pass the Dutchie Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/26/southampton-sofiane-boufal-lille-close-signing
Glassesbloke Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Flying over tomorrow for a medical according to papers in France. If only we had someone who could check... The local Lille paper doesn't say he's flying, chances are it's Eurostar or car. He's coming both for medical and contract finalisation, according to this link: http://www.lavoixdunord.fr/sports/foot-losc-sofiane-boufal-a-southampton-samedi-ia182b204n3698850
Wade Garrett Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Signing the contract on a pasting table in the centre of the pitch before the Sunderland game? A la Bryan Robson and Big Ron. I would love to see it!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 (edited) Now a done deal according to an updated L'Equipe report: TRANSFER total agreement on the transfer of Sofiane Boufal to SouthamptonLe 26/08/2016 at 8:22:00 p.m. | Updated 26/08/2016 at 11:17:02 p.m. | 86 CommentairesLille , Southampton and Sofiane Boufal have agreed on the transfer of Moroccan international , who should bring 20 million euros in the club northerner . Despite interest from Leicester last minute and outbid another English club which offered him a larger salary, Sofiane Boufal (22 years ) goes to leave Lille to join Southampton. All parties found Friday afternoon full agreement on a deal that should bring in € 20 million (excluding bonus) LOSC . Edited 26 August, 2016 by Ivan Katalinic's 'tache
Lazlo78 Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Few comments I picked up on from Spurs forum..... If nonsense then phew.... For example http://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/summer-2016-transfer-window-thread.15210/page-420 Also this article - http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/the-darker-side-of-sofiane-boufal/ - forcibly preventing Tallo from taking the spot-kick. - Boufal appeared selfish - manager Hervé Renard was forced to separate Sofiane Boufal and Junior Tallo - L’Équipe reported a training ground incident between central defender Renato Civelli and Sofiane Boufal - his self-centred attitude off the pitch is hurting LOSC’s results on it. - manager asking Boufal "do you care" More here - http://m.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Lille-altercation-boufal-civelli/603298 And more http://m.lavoixdunord.fr/sports/foot-losc-une-altercation-entre-boufal-et-civelli-a-ia182b204n3132958 Highly unlikely that there is any truth to these rumours, given he worked so intensely with Angers management in his youth...
Spoonman Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 A la Bryan Robson and Big Ron. I would love to see it! I remember that. Wasn't Robbo sporting the classic bubble perm? Must-have do for any aspirational player at the time...
ooh it's a corner Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Highly unlikely that there is any truth to these rumours, given he worked so intensely with Angers management in his youth... oh, i like it an internet droll at his best
New Forest Steve Posted 26 August, 2016 Posted 26 August, 2016 Highly unlikely that there is any truth to these rumours, given he worked so intensely with Angers management in his youth... Boom Boom ..... very whimsical
Appy Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Wouldn't be surprised if he's in the stands this afternoon.
doddisalegend Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 How do you compare Boufal with Mane? Someone posted that he is as good as Mane but much better technically...which seems to be setting the guy up for a fall if I'm honest. I know it's human nature but I think fans are a bit obsessed about comparing new signings to players that have left rather than just giving the new player a bit of time to show what he can (or cannot) do.

Not as speedy as Mane but Boufal is more technical. Might struggle initially with physicality of the league but in time will be fantastic.
O_RLY Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Not as speedy as Mane but Boufal is more technical. Might struggle initially with physicality of the league but in time will be fantastic. Gaston Ramirez II...?
Sour Mash Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Not as speedy as Mane but Boufal is more technical. Might struggle initially with physicality of the league but in time will be fantastic. Similar player in style to Mahrez? Who would be the best comparison with a well known player?
Strangely Brown Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Just wondering how rigorous a medical is on a player that's recovering from an injury?
DT Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 was wondering the same and how exactly he 'passes'. Guess they just do all the rest
sadoldgit Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 A hunch [emoji23] But you said that you had heard it was off?
Window Cleaner Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 But you said that you had heard it was off?7 What is off?
Reynoldson!! Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Just wondering how rigorous a medical is on a player that's recovering from an injury? There are over three hundred (300) joints in the human body, and he has injured one. Pretty sure that the medical will be more rigorous than looking at just that one joint. To be honest I'm not even sure why people on this forum are worrying about the clunext not beingue rigorous in medicals before spending 22 million. Do you actually think about what you post before you click send? I'm fairly sure the boars aren't saying 'looks good on YouTube.. let's get him on board'
Verbal Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Deal off I heard Which voice in your head told you this?

You could be right he is an Arab and plays for an Arab nation so could be interesting although he holds French nationality

Saint Without a Halo Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 But the joint he damaged is in the top 5 of those 300. The medical is to ensure no long term deteriorating damage in order to protect the asset financially and make sure he can be insured against career threatening injuries it is not to prove his current fitness! If the injury is not career threatening it is not an issue
Reynoldson!! Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Oh the irony. Haha very fair friend. Very, very fair.
New Forest Steve Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 But the joint he damaged is in the top 5 of those 300. Can't see it making the top 5 again this season .... all the joints around it have improved massively over the summer !!
Colinjb Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Swear he was in the Wags box on the chapel/Itchen corner.
Convict Colony Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Swear he was in the Wags box on the chapel/Itchen corner. Sounds like he has been following the pardew approach to southampton integration
Crab Lungs Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Sounds like he has been following the pardew approach to southampton integration Off to Kelly's tonight then.
Wimborne_saint Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 Swear he was in the Wags box on the chapel/Itchen corner. I thought that too, guy in a white t shirt front row of the box?
Saint_Ash Posted 27 August, 2016 Posted 27 August, 2016 With this lad on the pitch to provide a bit more of a threat we will start winning again. Let's hope we get the deal over the line and get him fit as soon as possible.
