doddisalegend Posted 18 August, 2016 Share Posted 18 August, 2016 It's America I doubt he was doing anything illegal (though I'm surprised he used a spear instead of some sort of military grade assault rifle). Of course some people will find hunting distasteful but unless he has done something illegal I don't see why they would pull his wife's sponsorship. JakkoUK Posted 18 August, 2016 Share Posted 18 August, 2016 Pointless. What is manly about going out of your way to kill a being, for the sole purpose of enjoyment of its death. That's just cowardly and sick. Will never understand hunting as a 'leisure activity' and never will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ohio Saint Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 (edited) If you can't eat 80% of it, don't kill it.....Unless you are just a murderous jackass, of course. Having a cam attached to his spear speaks volumes Edited 19 August, 2016 by Ohio Saint

Saint Albert Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 I feel sorry for anyone who gets his jollies out of killing animals. In this case, a-hole with the spear baited the bear and lay in wait before spearing it, which just does not seem like cricket to me even by hunters' low standards. I daresay that the spear hunter's guides were nearby with guns at the ready, in case it got dangerous for their clients. FWIW this incident occurred in Alberta, not the USA. The Government of Alberta has announced that it will be banning spear hunting.
Shance Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 I despise people who kill animals for sport especially in this way but at the end of the day, the dickhead broke no laws, so his sponsorship shouldn't be under scrutiny. You can't pull sponsorship deals from everyone who does something that may offend some people, otherwise there'd be no such thing as a sponsorship deal. But I reiterate, the bloke is a class A ***** for doing what he did and the actions will have had an effect on their business.
darren2 Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 Disappointed that UA actively support hunting and killing. Will make me question buying anything of theirs.
CB Saint Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 I think this quote says it all “The method Josh Bowmar used to harvest this animal was reckless and we do not condone this method of hunting. Harvest??? Seriously?
david in sweden Posted 19 August, 2016 Share Posted 19 August, 2016 If already posted sorry http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/woman-who-filmed-hunter-husband-8652216 Looking at Under Armour's sponsored sports......this must be a long way down the list of actvities. Think maybe some misguided individual in the promotions dept. went a bit too far on this one. Killing a bear for food may have been a necessity for some people 100 years ago, but this is akin to sponsoring fox-hunting.

Truly despicable behaviour, and support of this should be dropped, though I suspect that you will find others, such as Nike also support this barbaric behaviour. Sign the petition. So looking at that article Under Armour aren't against hunting just hunting with a spear. If he had killed the bear with a gun there would be less fuss. The lady being sponsored was sponsored as a hunter after all. Personally I have no interest in hunting but its big in north America so it should hardly be a surprise our American sponsors sell hunting gear.
