Does Antonio count too?

Made me think whether our Boardroom and owners philosophy was right watching this game.

Soul destroying to see Mane smashing in such a great goal too.

Gutted we can't keep our best players - we'd be unstoppable.

You should find another hobby or way to pass your time if watching a former player score is "soul destroying". I can only presume you've murdered any woman who dumped you.

what part of "players will always leave to bigger clubs" do people not understand?

Like it or not, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man Utd ARE bigger than us

It's testament to our scouting and player development that these players have gone on to bigger (and in some cases, not all) better things.

Some on her seem to hate the club, why do they bother to hang around like a bad smell, why not clear off

and follow another team...

As usual, a brilliant response pal.

Mixed bag of 'success' in there though.

Obviously too early to tell with Mane and Wanyama (and probably Shaw), but certainly Lallana, Lovren and Morgan have not hit the levels they did with us.

Walcott has not become the player we thought he would when he burst onto the scene, a lack of games and injuries have held him back I think. OX is potentially going the same way if he doesn't get more game time with Arsenal. Chambers only played because Arsenal had 3 centre backs injured and made a whole two starts last year.

Few grass isn't always greener stories there IMO, of course they will all be richer which is probably all they care about but there you go.

this goes back years, of all the great forward lines we have had I feel the Le Tiss Rod Wallace and Shearer was the best. Le Tiss with Rod Wallace was electric. Sadly 2 of the 3 left for bigger things. Another 'if only'

You could make an 11 of ex saints from just the two super sunday matches yesterday.......

-----------Boruc-------

Clyne-Lovren-Chambers-Shaw

-----Surman-Morgan---------

Ox-------Lallana-----Mane

--------Walcott--------------

Quite depressing seeing 5 ex players score goals in the same match really

Much better that they go for high prices, if it's not possible to afford to keep them. Mind, I think we could have got a lot more for Mane, or at least held on to him until January and benefited from quite a few more goals to set us up for the season. But that's water under the bridge now. Move on..
