We look lightweight all over the pitch - this diamond is never going to work imo. Players look lost playing it and no width

Until we get more attacking option in I can't see us scoring many.

Well this is truly awful.........only bright way of looking at it is that we got tore a new one first game of last season by Everton.

 

But this is worrying and absolutely no threat. I just don't understand this formation - its too narrow and we are not moving the ball at pace.

 

Play Austin up front and play as a real attacking unit as opposed to this useless false 9 formation.

What ever comes this season, this is troublingly poor at the moment. Especially the passing but also the tactics. A lot of players commenting on Puels methods suggesting it's going to take time to get used too also worries me. I hope I am wrong on every level, but this ain't pretty

Redmond is a wide player, always has been and would do well in that position if played.

Tadic, loads of assists when played wide. seeing him pick the ball in our own back third is poor

 

long was an utter nightmare for defenders last season. nothing here.

Austin would do very well if played centrally, we shall see when he comes on.

 

I know we usually start bad and we did last season, but we knew koeman had to tools to turn it around. even if he was under serious threat from his job

 

better in the last few mins but this is all very narrow

Is Redmond on the field? So far its what we have talked about, Watford playing good defense, letting us mess around with the ball and then countering.

Really, really poor. Tadic looks so threateing out wide (great run just now) but even when we get the ball in the box there are no Saints players there to attack it. Romeu has had a mare and we keep trying to p;lay everything through a really congested midfield.

 

Not pretty and very uninspiring so far.
