aregularirregular Posted 20 July, 2016 Posted 20 July, 2016 With Pellè leaving there has been talk about us bringing in a new striker to replace him and imo Gignac would be the perfect replacement. He's strong, physical and got a powerful shot so a v. good target man replacement. He moved to Tigres in Mexico back in 2015 but according to The Mirror and Sport in France us and West Ham were also in for him before he moved. His wages could be a problem but nothing we probably couldn't handle. Any thoughts?
Turkish Posted 20 July, 2016 Posted 20 July, 2016 I think there is already a thread for this sort of thing *locked*
The9 Posted 20 July, 2016 Posted 20 July, 2016 Gignac had Dugarry and Guivarc'h potential from his performances in the recent Euros. Can't say I've seen much of him other than that. I doubt we'll be signing players now based on Euros performances anyway, we'd either have signed them beforehand or we're not going to.
Dark Munster Posted 20 July, 2016 Posted 20 July, 2016 I think there is already a thread for this sort of thing *locked* No, we should start a new thread for any random name that CDAJFU.
ScepticalStan Posted 20 July, 2016 Posted 20 July, 2016 Blurgh. No thanks. Never once seen him look remotely impressive.
Deano6 Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 Is he the rather...chubby bloke who hit the post against Portugal? Didn't look so good to me.
farawaysaint Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 There are a weird number of people signing up to recommend players. Summer I guess.
Badger Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 No THanks - Might as well sign John Parkin !!! We've missed the boat I'm afraid. Just signed for Newport County after being released by Forest Green Rovers. Another fine example of us missing the boat because of Reed dithering. Don't know what he's playing at...
Colinjb Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 He's doing alright in Mexico. I would expect him to be a little over-priced.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 (edited) He's doing alright in Mexico. I would expect him to be a little over-priced. He doesn't want to stay there, novelty has obviously worn off. Ah that was last week, now he says he does, obviously got more money somehow. Edited 21 July, 2016 by Window Cleaner
david in sweden Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 As his name was being bandied around last season, I was interested to watch him in his shorter apps. in Euro 2016...... with hindsight...I thought " he may have looked the part" , but was half-a-yard too slow at the vital moments.... (a bit like Lambert or Pelle.... on a bad day). Can't think he'd be anywhere near top of the list in the Black Box.
JxgrSaint Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 Bit old and went to Mexico for the money so not sure on his attitude

Newport's Facebook page was just full of replies saying "HOW old is he?!?". 34, but very grey.
JxgrSaint Posted 21 July, 2016 Posted 21 July, 2016 Le Big Mac pour Gignac In France, it's a Royale though - source:
the_emu Posted 22 July, 2016 Posted 22 July, 2016 In France, it's a Royale though - source: That's a quarter pounder....
stedje Posted 22 July, 2016 Posted 22 July, 2016 He was by far the Worst French player taking part in the Euros. Something for us; certainly not!
notnowcato Posted 22 July, 2016 Posted 22 July, 2016 In France, it's a Royale though - source: Fail but the highlight of the thread..
