jawillwill Posted 20 July, 2016 Share Posted 20 July, 2016 That's the new name for the pointlessly re-branded U23 PL. Saints will be in Division 1 of Premier League 2. Made up of 12 teams per league.
Matthew Le God Posted 20 July, 2016 Share Posted 20 July, 2016 That's the new name for the pointlessly re-branded U23 PL. Well they couldn't still call it the under 21 league, when it is now the under 23 league (plus 3 overage outfield & 1 overage keeper allowed). Manuel Posted 20 July, 2016 Share Posted 20 July, 2016 What's the deal regards spectating? I know most are at Staplewood but a couple are at St Mary's.
VectisSaint Posted 20 July, 2016 Share Posted 20 July, 2016 Well they couldn't still call it the under 21 league, when it is now the under 23 league (plus 3 overage outfield & 1 overage keeper allowed). You must have known about this on Tuesday. League and Clubs have kept it very much under wraps until tonight. Kudos/ITK points. Question is why we have not entered the International Cup? 12 of the 24 PL2 teams have "entered" (Aston Villa, Chelsea, Derby County, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Reading, Sunderland, Swansea City). You would have thought it would have been based on the league position last year, but seemingly not. The only Division 1 teams not in the International Cup are Arsenal, Man City and Saints. Thinking this may be part of the reason why some teams have declined their invitation to the Football League Trophy.
