This squad plus two or three signings is plenty good enough for top 6 push. Just look at the squad Leicester won the title with. I reckon The club won't be happy with Puel if don't finish top 8. After Leicester last season and two of our players winning Euro's we should be pushing to win the title. It won't hurt at all being really ambitious like Leicester were . You can't win a PL title or finish top four unless you and the fans believe it is possible like Leicester did. I'd have though that Fonte will look for us to get another record PL finish after winning the Euro's. He has great self belief and drive, he looked like he was there to win the Euro's from the moment he got a chance..not just take part.

We could, but I'm just going with the team that's presented as such on the Saints website.

I think Gallagher's omission is simply an error as he's not listed in the Development Squad either. He was shown there before he went out on loan but never reinstated after he returned (last autumn I think)

look light up front to me. Definitely need more depth even if club is saying Austin is replacing Pelle. Too much of a risk to take to hope that Austin / Rodriques will manage two games a week regularly

Also I would like another attacking midfielder and reserve keeper

I can see us getting another GK, what with Stek going and Davis retiring - that is a must, unless the club believe Gazzaniga has improved sufficiently enough - but then we're still short in the U21 stakes.

I think we'll go after another quick attacking type player as well, someone who can play across the front. Then that will probably be it.

Defense is sorted, MF is sorted.

The Echo seem hell-bent on us getting a right-back in.

Goalkeepers:

- Fraser Forster (Paulo Gazzaninga)

Defenders:

- Cédric Soares (Cuco Martina)

- Jose Fonte (Florin Gardos)

- Virgil van Dijk (Maya Yoshida)

- Ryan Bertrand (Matt Targett)

Midfielders:

- Jordy Clasie (Harrison Reed)

- Steven Davis (James Ward-Prowse)

- Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg (Oriol Romeu)

- Dusan Tadic ( - )

- Jay Rodriguez (Nathan Redmond)

Strikers:

- Shane Long (Charlie Austin)

Probably something like that, IMO, we need a backup keeper, another wide player, either to start instead of J-Rod, or a backup to Tadic, and another striker giving some competition. Lets not forget we have the League Cup, FA Cup, and atleast 6 Europa League games, playing Thurs/Sun, we're going to be knackered! 1 injury to Shane Long, and we're pretty buggered, Austin isn't very good when fit, and who knows what will happen to JRod this season, certainly can't expect too much from him bearing in mind he's not played for over 2 years.

Would love it to happen, but cannot see Gallagher or Seager having much of an impact. Possibly Hesketh could be involved, although I'm not convinced he's ready yet. Don't even see a place in the squad for Isgrove, he's poor and over the age bracket of being a "free" squad place.

We'll see what happens.

Yes and Josh Debayo is still listed in the U23 list but is no longer at the club.

Now the transfer window has closed, I've updated the lists of who qualifies for our 25 man list for the Europa League and the Premier League - the list for the latter was published on the PL website yesterday. See post 105 on page 3 of the Europa League thread.
