Why am I worried about this season?

I really can't believe seven straight years of improvement doesn't buy the club (and Les) a bit of trust that they might have some idea of what they are doing. It could all go tits up (the law of averages means we are unlikely to continually improve our league position for a start) but at the very least we should give the players, club and new manager a bit of time (letting the players kick a football in a few games might be an idea) before writing them off doesn't the clubs track record to date entitle them to that?

I think on most message boards you're wasting your breath. i have no idea how many seasons we would have to show improvement before some people have any faith at all. 15? Who knows. It's been 7 now and still people say "Les doesn't know what he's doing" or "Kat is lining her pockets" like she needs to do that from Saints!!

We have literally no idea how well we've done this summer until the window shuts. We've got rid of the few that were going early. We got a new manager in who is taking a look at the squad to see what he needs. All seems perfectly sensible. I am sure we will be bringing in both squad players and first teamers in in the next few weeks. But people seem to want everything NOW. Immediately.

Wait and see what we've done when the season starts and the window shuts. Then you can have a moan all you want. But FFS give the club a chance to go about their business.

I think if we'd really really wanted to keep Koeman then we would have I think so not really worried about that.

If we replace quality with quality AND add to the squad then I'm no overly worried.

My only worry would be that Redmond is the Mane replacement, but if we get a a Mane replacement + Holjberg + No. 10 + a new right back then I think we are in a good position.

But if we sit on the squad and only see Hojberg + this right back on a free after letting Pelle, Mane and Wanyama go, overall the squad is worse off I think.

Two more quality signings - a No 10 and a Mane replacement and I think we are well set.

Does everybody forget that Charlie Austin scored 18 goals in a relegated team 2 years ago putting him only behind Aguero, Costa and Kane? The injuries last year were unfortunate but with a full pre-season he's going to come in like a new signing.

Remember in 2005 when everyone said that about Pahars. Them were the days.

Pelle gone, to be honest we all knew that was on the cards but that leaves us with Long,Austin, and JayRod,the last two who have had serious injury problems in the past.

I do hope we move for a forward who's Premiership class before the season starts and not in a transfer window half way through the season.

Yeah, we are definitely short of a pacey forward to compliment alongside or as cover for Long. Pace is the killer at the top level, and we sure will miss Mane's pace/trickery and goals.

Austin if he is fit will be at least as good as Pelle, he is experienced in the Prem and was very good in a very poor QPR side. JRod would be brilliant if he was back to his pre-injury best. I guess we'll find out soon, but glimpses of him last season looked likely to prove that this won't be the case, sadly. I guess as long as he trains hard and keeps believing it is still possible - fingers crossed.

I like others have mentioned, believe that it would be worth taking a punt on Berahino. Ticks all the boxes pace wise, can definitely finish, and is proven at this level. We can't keep on gambling that every foreign signing will adapt to the Prem, so a proven player I feel would be wise - plus he is young and can still improve :)

1.I feel we have lost one too many good managers and you just cant keep selling your best players.

2.Not sure we have replaced Ronald adequately.

3.Apart from Long we are not strong enough up front.

Why are you not sure that we've replaced Ronald adequately? People keep saying they're underwhelmed, unhappy,, unexcited by Puel etc. But I'm yet to see a decent argument which actually backs up the point.

Still haven't seen a decent argument against Puel.

So therefore, there isn't one. And it is simply because some fans hadn't heard of him, therefore he must be crap.

So you're comparing the French League to the Premiership? Paris Saint-Germain who won last season were 31 points ahead of Lyon in 2nd place and 33 ahead of Nice.

I'm not looking for a argument, I hope he does well and proves me wrong.

A whole season of 'you're not fit to wear the bra' chants and it's going to be worse for whichever player gets picked out for the 'looks like a woman and he wears a bra' song. Let's face it, although we can laugh it off, the club didn't really need to heap this embarrassment on the players and fans.

There have been good reasons posted you just choose to ignore them.

We all want him to succeed just some are concerned over his lack of working outside of France.
