So is this the way it is for televised PL footie....

Saturday - lunch and evening live footie

Sunday - lunch, afternoon, evening footie

Monday - night time footie

Tuesday - Champ League, odd evening footie

Wednesday - Champ League, odd evening footie

Thursday - Europa League

Friday - evening footie

Christ, it's nice to have a break from footie for two or three days, but seemingly not.

Very much disagree with Friday night games. The worst day of the week to travel. But more that it had seemingly become prime televised slot for the Championship. I am one who believes these sort of things should be shared about and if that means leaving Friday exclusively for Championship games, so be it. Having said that, I am not sure how many Friday PL games there are going to be. But once started......

I believe the package the Friday night games are in (the same on as Monday nights, so there will be fewer of those for the next 3 years) restricts the number of Friday games to 10 per season - there's a theoretical maximum of 4 times a team can feature in games in that package, but that won't be an issue for us as we just don't get shown that often.

Seriously ? United away on a Friday night ?

It's OK. If you want to get back to Soton that night by train, the last one leaves Manchester Piccadilly at 9.15 goes via London and gets in at 3am. However if you want to watch the 2nd half, then you'd best plan to stay in Manchester that night as there are no return trains.
