Mr consistent and you would struggle to find a more humble down to earth player in football today.

 

One of my favourite ever saints players.

 

Have we ever had a player while captaining their nation to a victory in the Euros or World Cup?

I like him as well, but I thought he wasn't playing when I listened to the commentary on the way home - never mentioned!

I was at the game, as were a few other Saints fans. He led his team magnificently, worked his socks off as usual, and when it mattered looked a class above the others on both sides.

Count me in...I love the guy; really good player who combines graft with lovely deft touches. Down to earth, modest and likeable.

The unsung hero, underrated by everyone except us fans, what he brings is invaluable, and it isn't just about the goals and assists.

Said it before and I'll say it again, when Steven Davis plays well, we also play well. He's one of our most important players.

The gulf in class between him and his NI team mates is ridiculous. Very cultured player.

Has to play a very different game for NI than us much more work off the ball than he is used to with saints.

Great to see him getting his just rewards in the game. As others have said, very much an unsung hero for us and clearly as proud as punch to lead his country at the Euros. Top man!

maybe one below par game in all the games since he was here. Brilliant first touch and ability to keep the ball and get out of tight spaces. Obviously he has certain limitations if you want to criticise him, but if you prefer to look at the positives there are lots to his game.
