jasonb Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 I fancy him to assist as he looks good I attack, as always!
Saint_Ash Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 That Renato Sanches is some player for an 18 year old. Moving from benfica to bayern after the euros. Man wanted him and dallied for too long.
Pancake Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Hopefully my "Fonte to score at anytime" bet will come off tonight. 33/1
Saint_Ash Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Hopefully my "Fonte to score at anytime" bet will come off tonight. 33/1 I just jumped on that as well. Over 2.5 goals is virtually evens so a tenner on that as well.
angelman Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Got to say, Stade Veledrome looks amazing. Wish we had a stadium like that.
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Hopefully my "Fonte to score at anytime" bet will come off tonight. 33/1 Do own goals count?
Lighthouse Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Fonte smacking Lewa round the head with a 3 year contract their, looks like a nasty paper cut.
Nordic Saint Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 I fancy him to assist as he looks good I attack, as always! Cedric is a very skilful player and in ‘the old days’ would have been a great right winger but his small physical stature sometimes causes problems for him in the modern defensive duties of a wing-back, as it did with that high crossfield pass which led to the Poland goal. Fonte looks, as always, like what he is: one of the finest central defenders in Europe. His leadership of the line, positioning and reading of the game are absolute perfection. Watching him play is a masterclass for any aspiring young centre back. Wouldn’t it be great to see Fonte v Pelle in the final?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Saints target Kapustka coming on for Poland...
Nordic Saint Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Saints target Kapustka coming on for Poland... I'd rather we went for Krychowiak, who is a stronger version of Schneiderlin.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 I'd rather we went for Krychowiak, who is a stronger version of Schneiderlin. Pretty sure he's off to PSG and even without PSG I don't think it's likely at all.
nta786 Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 OMG Penalties!!! Come on Portugal As for Krychowiak- out of our leaguee :/
TwoPints Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 That Renato Sanches is some player for an 18 year old. Moving from benfica to bayern after the euros. Man wanted him and dallied for too long. He's looked good in all the games he's played at the Euros. Got some balls to take the second pen too and what a cracking penalty it was. I have the feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more of that lad. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 June, 2016 Posted 30 June, 2016 Cédric and José are into the semi-finals! Brilliant stuff. Really happy for them, Jose especially.
Saint_Ash Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Love it. Portugal are in the semis due to their defence. Ronaldo has done eff all.
Saint IQ Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 (edited) If you didn't know it, watching the two centre back displays tonight you would say Fonte looks like he is the one who plays for Real Madrid and Pepe the one who plays for Southampton. Edited 1 July, 2016 by Saint IQ
shurlock Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 If you didn't know it, watching the two centre back displays tonight you would say Fonte looks like he is the one who plays for Real Madrid and Pepe the one who plays for Southampton. Pepe was excellent tonight.
Pancake Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Cédric and José are into the semi-finals! And Portugal haven't won a single game at 90mins. In fact, they have only won 1 match in open play and that was at 117 mins. Amazing.

doddisalegend Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 If you didn't know it, watching the two centre back displays tonight you would say Fonte looks like he is the one who plays for Real Madrid and Pepe the one who plays for Southampton. I thought Jose had a good game (and so did Pepe) but I did think Jose was keeping it very simple (if in doubt smash it CB work) and is a lot calmer and better with the ball in a saints shirt than he showed last night.
mrfahaji Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 I wish Jose would stop tapping up his Portuguese teammates...
benjii Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Fonte was excellent. Not just what he actually did with challenges and on the ball but they way he organises and encourages team-mates. He's a natural leader and a top quality player. I hope he stays fit and at Saints long-enough to be the next Super Kelv.
Saint IQ Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Pepe was excellent tonight. Saw him make an error but must admit I was just being biased maybe I was basing it on the games he had earlier on in the tournament.
Saint_Ash Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Pepe's interceptions and last ditch tackles are pretty good I must say. One of those players you hate unless he's on your team.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Pepe's interceptions and last ditch tackles are pretty good I must say. One of those players you hate unless he's on your team. They're last ditch challenges because he doesn't read the game
Saint_Ash Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 They're last ditch challenges because he doesn't read the game
buctootim Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 They're last ditch challenges because he doesn't read the game He's really handicapped Real Madrid the past seven years.
Batman Posted 1 July, 2016 Author Posted 1 July, 2016 may as well..... https://www.facebook.com/828777003809568/videos/1191643807522884/
Pancake Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Ropey Belgium defence tonight. The Welsh will get a chance or two.
Whitey Grandad Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 may as well..... https://www.facebook.com/828777003809568/videos/1191643807522884/ Works for me. Je suis Eric.
Saint Billy Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Anyone fancy a bit of ski jumping off of Robbie Savage's hair.
Lighthouse Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Wow. Belgium look pure class. Against what is a pretty poor Welsh team, let's be honest. Edit: bang on cue.
Batman Posted 1 July, 2016 Author Posted 1 July, 2016 Wow. Belgium look pure class. Wales are the better side now
Dark Munster Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Yes they are. The goal was no more than they deserved. A performance that puts England to shame.
Shroppie Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Wales are the better side now And way better than England. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 1 July, 2016 Author Posted 1 July, 2016 And way better than England. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk the excuse that the premier league is too hard/long. or we dont have a big enough pool of players to chose from is redundant Wales are playing brilliantly in the 1/4 final of the Euro's with a Reading striker up top we seem to turn our noses up at players who are not at the traditional 5 or so clubs. wilshere in for drinkwater ffs. Sterling going!!
nta786 Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 The main problem with England is we try to pick the big names and squash them into a team. Square peg and round holes and all that. Just don't pick the best team- and that is the result of inept management and I believe a conspiracy that those at the FA force you to start players only from traditional top 6- why? I don't know.
Lighthouse Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Yep. I've never understood it as foreigners in the premier league do just fine! Yet England being **** is going to cost us our Christmas football schedule which most fans love. It's supposed to be entertainment isn't it? No boxing day football sounds bleak. I guess it depends on each individual set of values but I'd happily play more games in the sunshine and fewer around Xmas.

No boxing day football sounds bleak. didnt Roy say after the world cup that if you dont play for your clubs, you do not get picked. Look how that turned out. Robson-Kanu just put Wales 2-1. would he ever got a look-in for England? not a fecking chance
nta786 Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Hal Robson Kanu. take a bow. But savage you are still going over the top with the commentary
angelman Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Was asleep to wake up to Robbie ****ing Savage squeaking.
CB Fry Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 That Harry Kane is going to light up this tournament and no mistake.
Lighthouse Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 Fair enough, both are good, but Christmas football is a nice part of our football culture. Maybe my Christmas is just ****ter than yours! More to do with the fact that if I'm not working Boxing Day, I'm usually visiting family abroad and miss it anyway. Personally I'd advocate a NYD game, then a month off for January and play until mid June. Whilst we're at it, might be better for some if the season started and ended later anyway. As in, the first weekend of September, so as not to encroach on school's summer holidays and the associated drop in attendances.
Saintmike5 Posted 1 July, 2016 Posted 1 July, 2016 If the scoreline stays the same then Wales will have won as many tournament knockout games in 6 days as England have in 20 years!
