Giordano Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 Strange decision for Manyoo to buy this no premier league experience 22yr old CB player. I would have thought that anybody who knows anything about the EPL knows that VVD is a standout EPL CB player and he has got a year of that experience under his belt. Only reason i can think of is that with a new 5 year contract it may have a mental buy out clause way over £30M- possibly £40M or £50M ~ in which case VVD may well be SFC's most valuable player on the open transfer market. simo Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 With the new premier league money you can chuck an extra ten mil on maybe 20m if its Everton interested!
Jai27 Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 40mil for VVD, maybe more. First season in the prem and he was immense. Rarely put a foot wrong, scored a few goals, and he's only 24 years old.

fez Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 Curiously the only thing he has not done so well this past season is play superbly for his national team. Looks much less assured with Holland

The answer; as much as someone if prepared to pay for him and the club accept. I can't see anyone paying £50m for a centre back, but if they did, then who knows ... Patrick Bateman Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 Remind me how much Psg paid for that brazilian with the hair who can't defend? Oh god, I had forgotten about him!! I stand corrected. Wasn't that around £50m? F**king mental.
ADutchSaint Posted 8 June, 2016 Share Posted 8 June, 2016 Curiously the only thing he has not done so well this past season is play superbly for his national team. Looks much less assured with Holland Well i wasnt surprised about that really. Everyone was playing bad and there was a terrible vibe in Holland when it came to the national team. Even the managers where speaking out in public how 'we are not good enough to play with 2 CB's'. So yeah thats a real boost in confidence when your playing your first matches in a team that struggles and with players you hardly know. Last 2 matches he was superb tho but if you ask me that also has to do with Van Aanholt next to him instead of Willems, who does what ever he wants and leaves massive gaps at back because he plays more like a left-winger then a left-back. Giordano Posted 9 June, 2016 Author Share Posted 9 June, 2016 Perversely, the fact that VVD is not in the big Euro shop window may stand us in good stead. But as i said before, anybody who knows anything about EPL knows VVD is a standout excellent CB.
pangy Posted 9 June, 2016 Share Posted 9 June, 2016 Every team will know VVD is one of the top defenders in the EPL,and the boy seems to have it all and more......they also know we do not get our pants pulled down over any transfer so they know only a British record for a defender (bear in mind City paid over £40m for Mangala ) will tempt us to sell
