saint lard Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 This has been a rallying call for a while now.... Its about time we dropped this.... We hardly 'march on'....unless you mean players wanting out and managers jumping ship asap. Stop with the sound bites SFC. Keep council for goodness sake Les. We must be doing something wrong.....find out what that is..... Or is it just greed?....financial gain? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 they are all little gimmicks. just like the 'Southampton Way' it will be something else in a year or so also, wasn't there 'We don't buy success, we breed it'...?
S-Clarke Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 It's actually a perfect brand point to push, because we did march on after everyone was saying we'd slip away. So we have marched on, twice. If doing something wrong equals two European finishes, then I'd love to know what we can do right to improve on that. Maybe we can bring Adkins back.
Saint_clark Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 Except we have marched on, and on, and on...we've improved every season for 7 seasons. The whole idea behind the slogan is that no matter what befalls us, "we march on". And we have. So...your point kind of falls flat on it's arse.
hypochondriac Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 Every club has these sort of empty soundbites. It's a little bit cringeworthy but mostly harmless. I generally just ignore stuff like this rather than moaning about it. I do think they should stop with the interviews until something is signed though.

Lighthouse Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 Since we've been back in the Prem, players and managers have only ever left for obscene money, Champions League football or a combination thereof. When our best players start leaving for Stoke and Watford, then I'll start worrying about a lack of ambition.
Gemmel Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 How ever much people don't like sound bites, the reality is we have...... We have marched on for six seasons in a row. I am sure there are other comparisons, but our rise up the leagues, our year on year positioning, must be one of the best in modern day football. I get it's all a bit cheesy and not for everyone, but the given all the ****, all the constant negative press coverage, all the experts and all the journalists, that told the World we were doomed, that have been forced to eat their hats and their words ..... I quite like it and happy to keep with it :) #Wemarchon
Master Bates Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 Like a phoenix rising from the Ashes, #Wemarchon
ericb Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 I'm hoping we bring back the brilliant and slightly like an invading nazi army hashtag we had during our last Europa campaign #wemarchoneurope [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sammysaint Posted 7 June, 2016 Posted 7 June, 2016 We wont march on everytime and we can not have this keep on happening, there will be a point when we go backwards. This summer we must show intent and replace Koeman asap with a proven European manager and only allow Wanyama to go and let the new man bring in some top quality players. I have a bad feeling this summer will be worse then the Poch one, I think we get a crap manager like Moyes and lose loads of players, I would rather we get back Adkins and finish midtable.

We have actually "marched on" for seven straight seasons in a row not sure anyone else has done that in Any of the four divisions over the same period ( although I would need to look up AFC Wimbledon and Bompey last seven finishes to be 100% sure of that fact) but however you look at it that is constant sustainable improvement year on year
whelk Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 I too think the hashtag is a load of boll ocks. Although you querying its appropriateness now is odd as we have. Stated frequently over years yet simpletons don't seem to be able to absorb - if we have success we have predators; not too much you can do other than be unsuccessful or become the biggest team in the world. We have no issue doing it to others but seem to somehow think something is simply wrong and can be corrected when it happens to us.

ericofarabia Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 We could do worse ... we could be Liverpool with the repeat ad infinitum ... "This is our Year" codswallop.
HKsaint Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 Previously, our manager left for Spur, but now our manager left for everton, and Bournemouth manager snatched the chance to come. I start worrying. Since we've been back in the Prem, players and managers have only ever left for obscene money, Champions League football or a combination thereof. notnowcato Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 We've only lost a first team coach, his brother and a bloke with a girls name, we've gained £5million, we've a chance to freshen things up - we'll be alright.
Monk Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 we do march on.. Just getting kicked, punched and molested as we do.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 Is Lard actually Neil Allen? Nah, not as articulate..
Saint Charlie Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 we do march on.. Just getting kicked, punched and molested as we do. We are "hopeful" as it all happens as well, which is nice and optimistic. But to be fair we have marched on til now and hopefully can keep doing so.

When you put it like that... Wonder in what terms you'd describe Juanmi's imminent departure then...'We've lost who? Never heard of him'.
