Le Timmier Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 Bravo sir - big respect. Another vote for MacMillan http://www.macmillan.org.uk
sadoldgit Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 Lovely gesture. For me it would be the British Heart Foundation. We lose far too many people to heart disease at an early age. All causes are good though. Or perhaps send it straight to Ron? He clearly feels he is short of a bob or two!
dinger Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 As my father has it https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/ Lost a Grandma to this, so it get's my vote. Me too, so also my vote.
Wade Garrett Posted 8 June, 2016 Posted 8 June, 2016 Top man Jimmy. The Piam Brown ward of Southampton General is an amazing place that looks after sick children. Sadly they couldn't save the daughter of friends of ours, but it wasn't through the want of trying.
Jimmy_D Posted 11 June, 2016 Author Posted 11 June, 2016 There are so many good causes here, and anyone that nominated a charity because their lives have been affected in some way has my deepest sympathy. We do have a clear choice of the Alzheimer's Society, a very worthy cause. ---- ---- ----
Secret Site Agent Posted 11 June, 2016 Posted 11 June, 2016 For me, Mum had cancer, Wife had cancer so no brianer: http://www.macmillan.org.uk

angelman Posted 11 June, 2016 Posted 11 June, 2016 JimmyD, I said I would match your donation to Alzheimers. What's the best way of doing that, direct to them or via you? If you want to PM me a/c details I can drop anything in there (if that is the best way).

eddie Posted 12 June, 2016 Posted 12 June, 2016 just a warning. I work for a humanitarian non-profit and know many others in the charity sector worth flagging that not all of 'em use the money wisely. Vast majority of our funding is from different gov'ts or institutions, so there's a lot of stringent accountability and if you don't show results, you won't get nowt. A lot of these other charities, especially those that don't get grant funding but instead rely on bake sales and sponsored walks, tend to be pretty shabby in their use of money. I heard that British heart Foundation is one of the worst. Their indirect costs are over 50%, for comparison, ours are 15. Not wanting to be all down, and theres some great ones out there!! For that list of comparison see: It's not exhaustive and most of what I've heard is from word of mouth http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/10225883/How-much-charities-spend-on-charitable-activities.html
SW5 SAINT Posted 12 June, 2016 Posted 12 June, 2016 I rather thought the thread was about Jimmy D giving to charity "if" Koeman was Everton manager at the beginning of next season. I should wait until that actually happens.........
Tony F Posted 12 June, 2016 Posted 12 June, 2016 Given the interesting stuff on other threads - maybe Jimmy will be seen to have been hasty - tho all in a good cause mind :-)
Saint Benali Posted 12 June, 2016 Posted 12 June, 2016 Nice one lads fair play to you. It's a great cause
