CeeBee Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 So we have Rudi who seems to tick all the boxes, but then there was the post saying he has no plan B when things go wrong. We have Puel who seems the outsider due to defensive tendencies and appearing an average option, and then we have FDB, desperate to prove himself in Premier league. Went for FDB at the very start and going to stick I think! Well summed up. On balance I agree with your conclusion.
CB Fry Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Why did this chap need to be a mystery man? Sounds very average to me Garcia for me. The reveal of that name of a French guy barely anyone has heard of has shaken British football to its very core.
CB Fry Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 I think you'll find kbss names no-one, he just confirms if others name names. Think that's very telling, don't you? Almost as if he been told. 'You can't present the name, but you can verify them'. And that is how mystery men are created. Don't know why you feel you need to get your g string in a twist about it. I think you'll find here is KBS naming names. Sorry meant Fdb. club don't want either and Moyes no chance. Unai, Howe, Pelligrini and another at top of list. Vitor also mentioned. There are other posts including him naming the names of five first teamers he thinks are on the list to go. One of them has now gone. Think that's very telling, don't you?
Window Cleaner Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 (edited) Why did this chap need to be a mystery man? Sounds very average to me Garcia for me. Puel is certainly not average, excellent manager really. His biggest problem is that he just can't compromise or accept any crap. He's also the bloke who drove Tigana out of Monaco because he wanted his job..which he duly got. Puel is like that, you do it his way or not at all. Doubt that he'd be a Les Reed type of manager really. Edited 17 June, 2016 by Window Cleaner
Patrick Bateman Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 The echo are saying Garcia is the "fans favourite" Surely, has to be him How do they know that, have they asked everyone? I'd like FDB.
Patrick Bateman Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Haha I have seen that episode Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk I laughed at that too - spot the posters with young lads at home (although Ben & Holly is still my favourite)
themasoon Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/ogc-nice-the-alternative-football-success-story/ This is a good read on Claude Puel. I still think I would have Rudi Garcia as my favourite but I would be happy with any of the three candidates mentioned.

beatlesaint Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Be honest. How would he rate against Koeman and pochettino? What has been his style of football? Pressing game like Poch according to the article posted about him
Convict Colony Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 After reading that article I defo like the sound of Puel

There must be a limit to how loudly money talks?
Mallagroth Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Puel sounds the ticket, a combo of our previous 2 managers. Pressing style, attractive counterattacking football, with a slightly more defensive 3-5-2 formation that our players have got sussed from under Koeman brothers. Sounds like the natural choice but... why would he move from Nice to Saints, it looks like our clubs are very similar in structure and their positions in their respective leagues. Will take some serious 'ambition' (lots of dosh) to pry him away.

(purely coincidental that this is around the same time that Koeman started rattling cages of course... )
Mallagroth Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 He left Nice last month... WOOT! Well my day's just got better lol. I just read the article and went from the above posters comment that the wife wouldn't like the change.
alpine_saint Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Like what I am reading about the direction our manager hunt is going in...
Mowgli Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Like what I am reading about the direction our manager hunt is going in... Whoever you are, please don't hack alpine saints account again. It's doing my head in.
Suhari Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 This frog does sound decent to be fair He'd jump at the chance of joining us too.
Quickfire Double Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Ribbiting thread this one. It's definitely got legs... Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Saint IQ Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 No to both of those, but anyway I'm not going to 'tella. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincenzo_Montella 3 consecutive 4th places with Fiorentina, a Copa Italia final defeat and a Europa semi final defeat to Sevilla I'd take that!
Nolan Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 He'd jump at the chance of joining us too. Helps that Southampton is a tad pole-ish Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Lallana's Left Peg Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Anyone have a view as to why we look for out of work Managers? It does somewhat decrease the pool we can choose from.
DT Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 It's definitely got legs... Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk He never toad the line at Nice
Mallagroth Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Koeman hopping ship has certainly spawned a lot of interesting managerial options.
Quickfire Double Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 He never toad the line at Nice Maybe he didn't like his Lille-pad, and wants to move somewhere better. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Pamplemousse Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 In France, undoubtedly they consider Garcia the better manager out of him and Puel

Pengi Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 Puel's odds have dropped with a range of 7/2 to 8/1. Did have a small bet at 14/1 first thing

sadoldgit Posted 17 June, 2016 Posted 17 June, 2016 You are trolling right? Sadly he isn't. And it gives you a pointer as to how he will be voting in the forthcoming referendum!
