Wonder if the mystery man is the Rayo Vallecano manager Paco Jemez. Fits the profile of a young manager who plays pressing football but more attacking than Pochettino and has done well considering the clubs small budget. Saw someone on Twitter mention that he had an offer from an English club and seeing as we are the only manager less PL club it could be us.

Interesting shout...they have had a good season

???

They were relegated!

I'm sorry but why the clamour for Vitor Pereira? Doesn't seem to have a brilliant managerial background. What makes him perfect for Saints? Apologies if already stated pages ago.

I don't get the hype for him either.

I'll throw another name into the hat

Could Jorge Jesus be managing at the Virgin St Mary's Stadium this season?

As was Strachan immediately before he joined us.

But yes, its always a worry.

On the other hand when a potential name is put forward having won their leagues (FDB , Marco Silva) they are dismissed having won titles in tin pot leagues with big clubs.

I heard that Reed wasn't to worried about the situation even though it has come out of the blue, he has gone on holiday so obviously not too panicky. Ralph went a bit mental though and ordered all of Ron's possessions out of staplewood immediately.

But he kept them up for many seasons despite having by far the smallest budget and having to sell their best players every year. It's equivalent to what Martinez did at Wigan but far better as the disparity in budgets between Rayo Vallecano and the rest of the league is far greater with no equal tv pay and a rumoured budget of only €7 mil a year to cover all costs.

Hopefully looking at a club link up rather than a prospective manager...

Wengers's previous job was in Japan prior to Arsenal.

So it might have been (I don't have the impetus to check) but on browsing the current J League managers there is no-one that looks like our kinda chap.

Eusebio Di Francesco the Sassuolo manager has he been mentioned?

Won Serie B with them got sacked the following January only to come back in March and miraculously keep them up, then guided them to a 12th place 14/15

And a very impressive 6th place last season considering they're one of the smallest teams in the league.

Would be deeply underwhelmed with him (based solely on his wiki page). Pretty undistinguished management career and not that young any more.

Well he's not decomposing but 46 hardly fits the description of a "young" coach.
I classed Koeman as a young coach and he's in his 50s isn't he? Anyone can be classed as young if they are stood next to Pellegrini, even though he's not as old as he looks.

That makes me young then, and Im sat here planning where to retire - a bit like Koeman by the looks of it.

Ha yeah, Koeman can retire in one seasons time by the looks of it.

Ron should be worried if Ralph starts wearing the hockey mask!!

K Billy, please confirm the other name is not Steve McClaren
Hope this is not the reason that K Billy has not revealed the name of the mystery manager

The McClaren thing was started by me saying "Thank f*ck Steve McClaren has been mentioned" AFTER K.Billy said the mystery is someone who hasn't been mentioned.

There's nothing in it.

Solid enough for me. Now where's my white hankie?

Anything much younger though and some might label them "inexperienced", ie Howe, & Silva. AVB is perhaps the exception to this as still young, but quite experienced (certainly experienced of getting the sack).

And Schmidt knows Mane too....

I have been waiting for someone to mention this. I think he is an interesting 'outsider' (a n other), though I still prefer Marcellino from Villarreal if you assume it won't be any of the others on the shortlist K Billy posted

As every 'hipster' supposedly does, have watched quite a bit of the Bundesliga and Bayer Leverkusen always catch the eye. Always on the front foot and go two up top. Longy would have a field day in that team.

There's actually two Schmidt's in the Bundesliga

Roger Schmidt- Leverkusen

Martin Schmidt- Mainz (who I posted about)

Martin Schmidt seems a pretty cool character and says "Tuchel was his mentor"

One of them doesn't measure up for the job though.

ie he's no 'measure- schmidt' !!

I think Bob Bradley

He is currently at Le Havre. Their owner is a Texas businessman. Since he was appointed they rocketed up Ligue 2 and ended up in 4th place. If they had scored one more goal in their final match, they would've been promoted.

I still am going for the mystery manager being Caleb Porter.
