Saint Charlie Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Like the sound of it although do still feel Pellegrini stands out like a sore thumb as being so different to the others. He wouldn't be progressive IMO.
Pamplemousse Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Not Tuchel. I doubt anyone would ever get who it is his name has not been mentioned atall and he's just one being considered club won't rush this appointment they are in no panic. Is this unknown name a manager in England or from abroad?
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 It's interesting what you (me) forget: Guan said this about Pellegrini: As much as I would bask in the news of Emery, I thought De Boer was more likely. But Manuel Pellegrini, Christ. His outlay per premier league place must be insane. The new direction isn't just about the manager, it's a comprehensive plan resulting from a ground up study of the club, and where we aim to be. He just doesn't fit. I don't understand it if it's true. I'll put it on the record now, If Saints appoint Manuel Pellegrini it will be the biggest knee jerk move since we handed Redknapp the keys to St Marys just to make a point. A bad one. I'll be happy to be wrong. I love all this ITK stuff!
Convict Colony Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 If Pereria actually happens I am goig to "love it" Kevin Keegan style at work as my mate is a massive Fenerbache fan and the worlds biggest glory supporter for English teams as well. This year he supported Arsenal because of Ozil but now since Man City have signed Ilker Gundongan he has decided to support them instead as they will win more with Pep.
Convict Colony Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Also interestingly he was the Assitant coach to AVB at Porto during their undefeated season
Saint IQ Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Is this unknown name a manager in England or from abroad? His 3 posts are up now ITK snippets denied!
Pamplemousse Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 His 3 posts are up now ITK snippets denied! There's always Guan, he can still post
S-Clarke Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Ah well, it'll make the summer interesting! Although we're still waiting to actually lose our manager....something fishy going on there with this delay IMO.
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Not Tuchel. I doubt anyone would ever get who it is his name has not been mentioned atall and he's just one being considered club won't rush this appointment they are in no panic. What I would love to know from that (I know his 3 posts are done) - is - would we not get him as he's an unknown? - Or because we would know him, but he's not been mentioned?
CB Fry Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Please not Howe. Surprised to hear AVB and RDB are way down the list behind Howe and Pelligrini, they seem much more natural fits than those two. There's not going to be an appointment for at least a fortnight is there?
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 To flag up what K Billy has said on another thread, AVB and FdB aren't at the top end of Les Reed's list. However, the following managers are... Emery Howe Pellegrini Mystery Manager (...?!) & Vitor Pereira
Saint Charlie Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 To flag up what K Billy has said on another thread, AVB and FdB aren't at the top end of Les Reed's list. However, the following managers are... Emery Howe Pellegrini Mystery Manager (...?!) Why do we still have two threads on the exact same topic even. Poor modding IMO.
S-Clarke Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 http://www.football-espana.net/58975/emery-waiting-psg Seems like Rudi Garcia is being linked with the (potential) Sevila job. If we did get him though (Garcia) at least we'd be able to resurrect the Rudi Skacel song...
Saint Charlie Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Anyone mentioned Rudi Garcia? He has been mentioned on here. Possibly by Crab Lungs.
S-Clarke Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Reed really wants Howe, doesnt he He's got a bit of a man crush on him I think.
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Paul cook anyone? may not consider the 'step down' K.Billy said not mentioned - He's been mentioned before
S-Clarke Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 He has been mentioned on here. Possibly by Crab Lungs. Marco Silva I think he mentioned.
Saint Charlie Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Marco Silva I think he mentioned. Ah ok. Someone definitely mentioned Garcia. Connor Armstrong said his Roma watching pal wasnt a fan.
CB Fry Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Marco Silva I think he mentioned. No it was Rudi. Prompted me to Wikipedia him and then formally approve his appointment as Southampton manager.
thorpie the sinner Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 So shall we start a poll on the 'another' lol? I will start us off, Neil Warnock!!
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Yakin? Good shout but has been mentioned. To be fair, Pellegrini being in the running opens up the possibility of a whole host of different options.
CB Fry Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Reed really wants Howe, doesnt he I'm crossing to the dark side if we appoint him.
charliemiller Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Yakin? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Good shout i reckon linked before
saintwbu Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 I'm willing to be underwhelmed if it is in the form of a manager that I don't know much about. Moyes/Howe would be disappointingly underwhelming.
Toadhall Saint Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Yakin? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Bless you
charliemiller Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Maybe the unknown not mentioned one is managing a national side and will resign at the end of the Euros ......?????
Pamplemousse Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 I did post this before, but seeing as we are marketing ourselves in the US, perhaps the unknown is the most recent winner of the MLS, Caleb Porter?
Bewildered Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 The mystery man is most intriguing now Not been mentioned because he is relatively unknown here? Not been mentioned because fans and press would assume him out of reach? Not been mentioned because he may be considered not good enough? Mere oversight?
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Hasn't been mentioned - but also a question - where the hell is Frank Rijkaard these days?
saintwbu Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Maybe the unknown not mentioned one is managing a national side and will resign at the end of the Euros ......????? Hodgson has been mentioned so thankfully that rules him out. Joachim Löw?
Manuel Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 If we want Eddie Howe, we might as well have kept Nigel Adkins? I don't really see how his record is much of an improvement.
verlaine1979 Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 You don't leave Dortmund (having only been there a short time and done ok) to join Southampton. Would be a thousand times more odd than Koeman's move. Shortlist looks good but Emery will seemingly be struck off soon. I'm pretty sure Tuchel said he wasn't interested 2 years ago when he was out of a job after leaving Mainz. I doubt his year at Dortmund has made him any more interested in mid-table Premier League jobs.
CB Fry Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Yakin? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Such lovely hair.
SuperSAINT Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Yay! - We have ONE manager thread now! Any of these? Is Low too obvious?
Convict Colony Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 Maybe the unknown not mentioned one is managing a national side and will resign at the end of the Euros ......????? Or Copa ?
Yorkshire Saint Posted 9 June, 2016 Author Posted 9 June, 2016 https://m.oddschecker.com/m/football/football-specials/southampton I can understand the attraction of Howe but I am not so sure Odds are getting shorter what ever the echo says
Saint Scott Posted 9 June, 2016 Posted 9 June, 2016 So shall we start a poll on the 'another' lol? I will start us off, Neil Warnock!! I'll go for Roger Schmidt. Two fantastic seasons with Leverkusen and brought in some talent in Hernandez and Tah who looks very promising. Likes to press when out of possession (poch esque) and are very good on the counter attack surging players forward. I enjoyed the style of play in the few games I watched them in play in during the latter stages of the Europa league and bundesliga.
