eelpie Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 (edited) Is it time for a poll? Some suggested names for our next manager keep recurring. Yet Koeman could actually still be here if Everton walk away from Saints compensation demands, which would be interesting since that would mean that he remains our manager. So from this list, who do you think would be the BEST for us? One preference only, giving a reason. FD Boer Emery Pellegrini Eddie Howe Gary Neville Roberto Mancinii Gary Neville Jurgen Klinsmann Koeman (remaining, if his negotiations with Everton break down) Another (say who) It will be difficult not to be emotional about this, but state who you think will be the BEST manager for the job. (Mods, if you do not think this should be a poll, merge with New Manager thread) Edited 5 June, 2016 by eelpie by popular demand lol
S-Clarke Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Why do people keep saying Ancelotti? He's the Bayern Munich manager. And Gary Neville, seriously, can people drop this one. He may make a good manager, but let him do that elsewhere first.
eelpie Posted 5 June, 2016 Author Posted 5 June, 2016 ancelotti....you on crack? He has been mentioned
Batman Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 He has been mentioned by who? are we buying him out of his Bayern Munich deal? have we mugged Koeman off about our ambition to make a play for Ancelotti?
eelpie Posted 5 June, 2016 Author Posted 5 June, 2016 by who? are we buying him out of his Bayern Munich deal? have we mugged Koeman off about our ambition to make a play for Ancelotti? You're getting emotional. Stick to the OP.
nta786 Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 You're getting emotional. Stick to the OP. I'm with Batman here, I want whatever you're smoking. Because if this is a poll, then I'm gonna say Ancelotti would be best for us, but I'd say the odds of him coming here is a 1,000,000-1 in my eyes.
Pamplemousse Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Ancelotti is the new Bayern manager! Why is he in that list?
eelpie Posted 5 June, 2016 Author Posted 5 June, 2016 This list is not definitive for those who are getting uptight. And not a short list. It's a bit of fun.
Ohio Saint Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 I vote for me. I would not leave forever, until I is sacked after the first week.
Ultimatt Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Rudi Garcia? Not sure how he fares with our club ideals but just throwing another name in the hat. Won a title in France, twice runner up in Italy. Unemployed. CL experience getting Roma to the knockout stages. Says he gave 9 Roma youth players their debut in his 2.5 years at the club.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 I vote for Roger or Alpine,or St Robbie or even the tool kermit... They post like this football lark is easy... Roger`s red and white army
ScepticalStan Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Neville would perhaps give us access to United's academy youngsters on loan; particularly given Mourinho won't ever want to play them. I really like Klinsmann so I'd be happy if he came here, but I'm not entirely convinced he'd be particularly great for us. Got a lot out of an average German side in 2006 though and his USA team looked good at the World Cup.
bjk Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Unai Emery.Has stated he wants to manage in the PL and has been fantastic with Seville and who better to take us into the Europa League having won it the last 3 years.
Saint Charlie Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Can you add Pep, Thomas Tuchel and Keith Hill to the poll please. And Neil Redfearn.
Badger Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Paul Tisdale Tommy widdrington Metsu or whatever his name was. Yakin. Eduardo Berrazi (who I'd never heard of until yesterday)
diggers Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Think the second Gary Neville has more to offer than the first
Saint Charlie Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Think the second Gary Neville has more to offer than the first The first is apparently an IT Consultant from Wilmslow with no football experience. Would be an odd choice.
Badger Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Can you add Pep, Thomas Tuchel and Keith Hill to the poll please. And Neil Redfearn. Tuchel's a strange one to fathom really. After a good start to his career I believe he's now back at Rochdale. Or have I been reviewing too many managers names over the last 48 hours?
SNSUN Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Djamal Belmadi has won the league. Top manager and he knows St Mary's too! Of the OP's list I think Klinsmann would be a decent choice, big name in the game with decent managerial experience but I don't think we'd attract him. I guess Emery would be the best choice.
Pamplemousse Posted 5 June, 2016 Posted 5 June, 2016 Seeing as we're targeting the US market, let's go for the most recent winner of the MLS, Caleb Porter
cellone Posted 6 June, 2016 Posted 6 June, 2016 I vote for me. I would not leave forever, until I is sacked after the first week. At which point I will be happy to take the reigns until lunch time as I will be exposed as clueless. Only in it for the free lunch. Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
stevegrant Posted 6 June, 2016 Posted 6 June, 2016 Poll now active as a new sticky thread. Might add a few others I've missed if there's someone glaringly obvious.
