Equal Rights For Women

What does this actually mean? If it really is to be equal then it should work both ways. For every person you hear telling us that there are not enough women at the top of their professions (despite many having chosen to have 10 years or more off to raise families) you should also hear people saying that we currently do not have enough women emptying dustbins, unblocking drains and all the other crappy jobs that never seem to entice them in. Equal should mean equal and not just about hand picking the jobs which they want a slice of.

I want to be a house husband, but i need to find a high-earning, hard working supermodel with self-esteem issues prepared to shop in the bargain basement for a partner who is below average in the looks and intelligence departments and who can't be arsed with DIY or looking after the kids.

Rising to the bait  .......

I would hope that a man would treat me with courtesy, e.g. holding a door open for me etc. in the same way as I would treat an elderly person with similar courtesy.

I don't think that that is sexist / ageist. Just politeness.

This is a point I must respond to. A woman expecting a man to hold a door open is wrong. Expecting a person is fine but why expect it more from a man? What is worse is that you compare it to an elderly person that could well have problems doing things for themselves. I agree on what is polite and impolite and would equally expect a woman to hold a door for me should she reach the handle a fraction of time before me.

Question. If women act like women it is a normal thing that should be respected. When men act like men its considered by some women to be rude and vulgar, and shouldn't be allowed.

How is this gender equality?

Did you go to the pub tonight and randomly start talking to someone in the cubicle next to you?
